Mobile Magic now available for iPhone

Agggghhh. Just got back today. I used all the others out there and our friend who had this on his droid had the most accurate info by a landslide. Can't wait to use it next trip.

And that is exactly why I have two different iTunes account. The only downside is that you can't buy anything using a credit card that was not issued in the US (exception to this rule is the American Express card) but all the free apps are good to go. Or you can buy them using a iTunes gift card! That's what I do.

How did you do this? I tried to set up a US itunes account but it wouldn't let me as my CC isn't US? I tried fibbing it as I've lived in the US and used my old post code, but because of that it didn't match the adress in my bank records so it didn't work...

I used this app (on my Sprint HTC Evo) for the first time at MK yesterday.... it is awesome!! At first I was skeptical because the wait times just said "see now" or "moderate" but as soon as we got into the park, it switched over to actual wait time in minutes. In addition to the wait time (which was very accurate) it also provided the current fast pass distribution time. The fast pass distribution thing was great to me because it allowed me to plan out our day so well!!
I was able to make an ADR in the car on the way over to MK without having to deal with trying to call and make one over the phone. You pick your where you want to eat and the # in your party and it gives you the available times they have open for an ADR.
There is also a fun Disney trivia game that's fun to play in lines. It's a great way to pass the time while you wait!
The only down side to me was the fact that it really ran down my battery fast. Thankfully I brought my charger with me though and was able to recharge it during dinner.
I love and highly recommend the app! I will be using it whenever we hit WDW from now on!!!

Here's a quick tutorial on how to set up your second account:LINK

i am soooo excited about this! I loved mobile magic on my old phone, so when I got the iPhone a few months ago this was the one thing I was really upset aut. Downloaded it to my iPhone a few days ago and LOVE it! It's so much more advanced than I remember and it works like a charm. Can't wait to use it in the parks!!!

Thanks for the info as I have the EVO too. Now I'm wondering if I should invest in a back up battery.

Gotta love the DIS! Thanks for sharing everyone! :cool1::thumbsup2

Not available in Canada...grr we never get the good apps.

I just can't figure out what possible rationalization Disney could have for making this a US only app, and it is Disney not Apple doing that. The vendor chooses how wide the distribution is. The mobile web site is still available to international users and it has the same info so it's not like it's US only information. And it shouldn't be to protect AT&T and Verizon because my iPhone connects to AT&T when I'm in the US so they'd get the data dollars anyway.

It feels a lot like when Disney ended its Disney Club which gave benefits to members worldwide and replaced it with the Disney Chase Visa which was available only in the US. A complete thumbing of their nose at their international customers.

Come on Disney, why won't you let the rest of the world have the same advantages for a good trip as your US patrons. Shameful.

Check out the link in post #68.

I know about the second account process but that's not the point. Non-US patrons shouldn't have to do this. Disney should consider all of its customers when releasing an app. They are an international operation attracting a wide range of international customers after all.

It might have to do with the special features available only to Version customers in the park and wanting to ensure non-Verizon customers don't get them. But that's easy to manage by disabling those capabilities in copies in the non-US stores. Simple programming really.

That means that it's hard to conceive of what Disney's rationale can be for limiting this app to the US store. It just seems like they don't care about their non-US customer base and makes one wonder why we go when it seems they don't care if we show up or not. Shameful and wonder if all of us internationals should take the hint. Disney seems to mess up everything these days and needs a customer service tune-up.

the simple answer is that the app was created out of a partnership between Apple and Verizon, which is a US only company. I don't know what is in their agreement, but it is not solely up to Disney where it gets sold.
Originally, it was to be exclusively for Verizon customers. At this point, the app itself is not exclusive, but there is still some Information in it that only Verizon customers are able to access.
