Mobile dining questions

Hi everyone,
With our trip getting near I wanted to see if anyone would have some answers to questions about mobile dining orders and how they are working now since we haven’t been in the parks post-Covid….
1) if we mobile order can we change our window to a later time (if needed) without simply cancelling and re-ordering? Obviously this would mean that another window is open but I just mean can you change the time if needed
2) if we want to ask for something plain (like a burger) has anyone had luck mobile ordering then asking at the pick up window for the plain part? I don’t see an option for customizing a lot of items and we have some picky eaters but mobile order could save some major line waiting
3) if we order something for a later in the day window (like a seasonal food that could run out later in the day) will the item be held or if they run out before the window we are out of luck? Trying to gauge is we can order it for when we want it or need to grab it up first thing and eat it later to be safe
4) if an item isn’t on mobile order first thing in the morning does that mean they are likely out then/that day or is it worth going to order in person? Seems like some days they have seasonal items on mobile order and some not and I know even before Covid shortages there were days seasonal items were out and hadn’t been restocked yet so I’m hoping it’s not worse then usual this year!
We’ve done some mobile ordering in the past but any helpful tips especially for changes recently would be much appreciated!! Tia!

If you mobile order, your meal will be ready to pick up; not really a way to ask for something else at the pick up window, as they will already have it assembled at the time you pick it up.

That's not really true at all places. MANY places don't put together the order until you physically walk up to the counter, even though it says "your order is ready for pickup."

1. Yes, you can change a window only if the window of time hasn't started yet. You can move it later or earlier, depending on availability. Once the time starts, you can no longer change the window.

2. Almost every place that has burgers has tye modify option where you can choose to keep it plain. My son only likes plain burgers and we've been able to modify the mobile order at every place that sells burgers to make it plain. BUT, if you need to modify an item and can't do it when you order it, BEFORE you hit the "I'm here, prepare my order" button, go speak to the CM manning the line and mention that you need one or more of your items customized and they will send you to the counter to do so.

3. If you order a seasonal item early, they can still run out. If they do they will refund you the item at pickup. They do not "hold" items.

4. If an item doesn't appear in the morning, that does NOT mean they don't have it. It means you need to wait in line and order the old school way. The app isn't 100% accurate all the time and items sometimes don't appear that they do actually have.

My general point was that by the time the app says your order is ready may be too late to say, "Please make it plain." Tomorrowland Terrace used to have my order waiting at the counter before the app said it was ready. In that case, asking for it to be plain would be too late. At Smokejumpers, it could totally be done, though.
