Mobil ordering

how busy are the mobile ordering pick up lines? My DH says at time at Starbucks there are more people in the pick up line than actually ordering line?

What has been your experiences?

We used mobile ordering every day during a two week trip in September. I can only recall one occasion where there was a line and it was only one other party whose order was ready at the same time as ours.

Most times we grabbed a shady spot somewhere outside and went in when the message came through to say the order was ready. Usually strolled right up to the counter without any wait. I loved it!

ETA this was for the counter service restaurants, never used a mobile pick up line in Starbucks.

Most times I see one other party. Doesn't mean there aren't others waiting that I can't see. But, I've never seen a line. You just hang out & wait to be called, no line involved.

We found Mobile ordering to be fabulous especially at crowded places. Picking up a Dole Whip at MK was better that it has ever been and we had lunch on CHH just as a large tour group showed up and had our lunch in 5 minutes. :)

The only issue is that the line can look larger than it is because people hang around when they haven't even ordered yet.

None of the Starbucks locations at WDW currently take mobile ordering. The line to pick up at Starbucks that your DH saw is people who have ordered and are waiting for their drinks. That line can be longer than the line to order at times because the drinks take longer to make than they do to order.

At the restaurants that do take mobile ordering, the app tells you when your food is ready. I’ve maybe had to wait behind one other party picking up their tray, it’s never taken very long.

It depends on when you go. Over Christmas week, mobile ordering got slammed during peak hours at some counter service locations.

The only place I had to wait (this was two years ago so it may have changed) with a lot of people was Satulii (is that spelled right?) at AK. Everywhere else it seemed we were the only people who knew about it!

We used mobile ordering on multiple occasions during our October 2018 and February 2019 trips with little issues. The only place with a crazy line was Aloha Isle (on both trips)- I really think they need to figure out a way to manage that line. Many people were ordering while waiting in the line instead of waiting until they received their alert to pick up food to get in the line.

we used mobile order atleast once a day last summer trip and had no issues. We would put in the order while walking around and say we were there to pick up about 5-10 min before we got there. It was always ready when we got there. No waiting!

I love Mobile Order. It usually only takes a couple of min. Really, it just varies on how busy it is. Only two times (over many trips) have I had to wait more than 5-10 min. That was Pinocchio Village Haus and Tommorrowland Terrace. I like the fact that we can get the kids settled at the table and just wait for our order instead of one of us or all of us standing in line for 10-30 min.

We had a decent wait at Casey’s in January. Mostly because people were clogging one side waiting to order and it was the side for mobile ordering only. There were lots of people just standing in the way.

You can "practice" mobile ordering on the MDE app - just don't actually go all the way through with the order - just browse, pick things from menu, modify, etc. before finally cancelling. It seems pretty straight forward but it made me feel more comfortable with the idea of doing it to look around a little :)

Super busy, it's really not even worth opening that tab on your app, I don't think it saves any time at all.

(come on guys, let's try to keep this one on the DL ;))

I actually like that more and more people are using it. I’ve noticed most counter service locations are less crowded when they open for lunch since mobile ordering is catching on. Many people don’t feel the need to rush at opening to beat the crowds and since that’s when I like to eat, it’s a win for me. :)
