I had read a thread about roaming characters versus meet and greet characters. Looking for a little more clarification. If Moana is meeting by the treehouse is that a meet and greet location or a roaming location? If it is roaming are we still able to get pictures?

Moana is meeting in the courtyard of Aladdin's Oasis. It's a set meet and greet location with ropes.

Others have posted that she might do roaming sets, but I have not personally experienced that in November.

She does both kinds of sets. When it shows her by the treehouse (I think it says “near Wildlife Wonders”), that usually means she’s roaming. You can always check the Oasis for a line and ask a CM there, too, though.

We met her last March as a roaming character, but I've seen set M&Gs with her, as well.

We have met her both ways as well. When she was “roaming” she was standing just outside of the entrance to the Jungle Cruise. She took pictures but there was no formal line. Everyone just stepped in and took a picture as someone else finished up. She then walked over by Aladdin’s Oasis and stopped and took pictures with people. That was last month.

When we saw her in Jan she was roaming. There was a crowd of people and she did pose cor pictures. I would have preferred an actual M&G because there was no order.

Two weeks ago we had an organized meet with Moana just behind Tarzan's Treehouse. I don't we would have even noticed she was there if my daughter didn't see here as we came down the treehouse stairs. She spent several minutes with my kids and we got great photos.
