I know that you can dress up in Halloween Costumes for the Party. My husband wants to know if there is any type of Costume contest. Can any of you mnnshp veterans enlighten us?

Nope. No contests. They do a children's costume parade, but that's it. There are costume contests at Pleasure Island, but that's a whole different thing ...

We have the best time looking at everyone's costumes. It is one of the highlights of our night. We will sit on the curb an hour before the parade and just watch everyone.

I was at a local thrift store today as they mark everything down for end of the month. I came across a top I was thinking would be perfect for a witches costume at MNSSHP-- I'm thinking of going back to get it.

I just finished the 5th and last costume for my family. We are all going as characters from Hercules. They look great. I'd post a picture, but I have no idea how to do it.

DW and I wore costumes (she was a cat, and I was - duh - a Doctor in scrubs) and had a great time. One funny thing; because we wore Guest of Honor Badges w/our names, a lot of people thought we were CMs!

Where do you find these costume patterns for adults....I can't find anything???

Your local fabric store should have pattern books with all kinds of adult costume patterns. If you do not sew a lot you may want to pick a costume that you can replicate without sewing. Mary Poppins can be done by shopping thrift stores and I'm sure that the chimney sweeps would be easy too. I have done Peter Pan for one of my boys just by purchasing a really big (for him) T-neck. I cut a straight line down the collar into the shirt for the collar and v-neck look. cut the sleeves and waist in a zigzag pattern. Had him wear green stretch pants and a green elf hat and he was Peter Pan. It looked great and took about 5 minutes to make.
