so I've been to dl's halloween party every year since opening. This year I. Trying something new for my trip and going to WDW. Only been to WDW once. So is the mnsshp worth the extra ticket? It looks like the same trick or treating (with probably the same cheap penny candy miss the days of snickers bars), and the same villains themed fireworks. So to me it doesn't really seem worth it and I should just avoid MK for the two days it's happening while I am there. Any thoughts? I will be traveling with two small children (6 &1), and we are coming from west coast if that helps.

I only went to DLR's party once when it was at California Adventure.
WDW's has the trick or treating, an incredible fireworks show, a great parade, a funny stage show, lots of Halloween themed eats, and a Halloween projection show on the castle (similar to the show on the side of Small World at Disneyland). All are very different than whats done during non party nights.

When they moved it from DCA to DL they started the fireworks on the castle and small world. Oogie boogie takes over the fireworks. I think that's where they got the idea for the 60th fireworks, and Christmas lights/show on small world. DL also says it has special treats but not really. A cupcake does not make it great. Now the 24 hour party foods are good. I'm rambling sorry been to DL way too many times, or not enough.

I can't really tell you if it's worth it or not, it's subjective. For us the cheaper party dates are worth it but I don't know if we'd go if it cost much more.

That being said, I recommend going to MK on the day of a Party Night. We've always found the crowd to be very manageable on those days. Many visitors don't like going on those days as they feel that they aren't getting their money's worth due to the loss of a couple of hours. We've always found that we get a lot more done on Party mornings/days than a MK day without a scheduled party that week.

I've been to both. WDW is definitely worth doing at least once. The parade and stage show really puts it in a different league from the party at DL.

I've done it a couple of times but that was about 10 years ago. I couldn't say if it is still worth it. The things that I liked when I went were the short waits for rides, the fireworks, the characters wearing "costumes" and the one little show I was able to catch. One year I spent a good amount of time riding stuff with very few candy stops. Another year I spent a lot of time getting candy and trying to catch little things that were specific to the party. For me it was more valuable to enjoy the rides...but I don't know that I'd pay extra for it. (Both times my aunt bought my ticket since she worked there at the time). My understanding is it can get pretty crowded now making it harder to get much value.

It does not sound worth it for you based on your expectations and ages of your kids. I would probably skip it and focus on other things.
