This will be our first time attending MNSSHP in October. I'm trying to get a game plan together so we do not waste time. Our plan is to arrive around 4 pm- eat a quick service dinner, then get in line for the 7 Dwarfs. After that, we thought about my DH heading to Main Street to save all (4) of us a spot for the parade, while our DD's & I visit some other characters. Is this frowned upon for him to save our spots? Or any better suggestions?

People will definitely frown at him, but as far as I know, it's not expressly forbidden. I would get a spot for the parade in Frontierland - I think it'd be easier to save spots there...Main Street gets VERY crowded, in my experience. I prefer it back there because then we don't get trapped when they stop letting people move during the fireworks. It also puts you in a great position to jump on rides like Peter Pan with a short wait.

Don't forget, you can get 3 FastPasses on your MNSSHP ticket for between 4 and 7 PM. No FPs once the party starts, but you can use them beforehand. They count as your 3 for the day though, so if you are visiting another park and using FP's that day, you can't get more on the additional ticket. That could help a lot with 7DMT.
