Is it worth it? What is the general cost of tickets? Is it better than MVMCP?

We will be there 10/30 - 11/4 so we may catch the tail end.

Thanks

Michelle

I cannot compare MNSSHP to Christmas because I have never been at Christmas.

and I think "worth it" would depend A lOT on what you are looking for...rides, ambiance, parade, fireworks...etc.

I had my first Halloween experience this fall...it was on our anual "mommy" trip, so we didn't have kids.

The tickets were 60.00 or so each (I am a passholder...but I don't remember if we got the discount).

I think it was great...we went mainly for the extra park hours...the parade and fireworks. We did "trick or treat" a little bit, but it wasn't a big focus...and we did get to see all 7 dwarfs (and danced with them a bit...was adorable).

The parade was the best I have seen...really great!! And the fireworks were okay (I liked Pirate and Princess/Nightastic better). I loved it!!

I have small kids 5, 3, and 1...the don't usually last too long at night, so the late park hours would not be worth the money to take them.

I would go again with perhaps my oldest...really fun atmosphere, EVERYONE seemed so happy to be there...
Hope this helps in some way :)

They are both awesome...

Do it.. we go every year.. The kids love it!

I'm a huge fan of Halloween and my sister and I LOVE the Halloween party the parade and fireworks are absolutely amazing totally worth it the dance parties and rides at night are really fun too! I definitely recommend it! The only annoying thing is they don't have enough places to get candy which makes really long lines but near the end of the party, if you walk around a bit and check out decorations and stuff, you'll find that a lot of people have left and there are a lot of unoccupied candy stops!

Advice: Move to Adventureland (I only suggest this because they have more rides over there but you can go over to Tommorowland too) the first parade and ride all the rides line free while the crowds are watching the parade and fireworks. Then move over to main street and pick a good spot for the second parade and fireworks, it'll be less crowded and much nicer.

what time is the second parade and fireworks? Can you leave the park say around 3pm and then come back at 8pm to do MNSSHP? The kids (and me) will need to take a nap inbetween :lmao:

Don't bother going to the parks earlier just arrive for the party at 4 pm

:) Both are great, we last attended MVMCP this past Dec and then MNSSHP in 2009. I think we both prefer MNSSHP becasue of the costumes and kids dressed up. The parades are both great and very fun. You do not want to miss the start of the MNSSHP since the Headless Horseman starts the parade. He is awesome. You will want to stand near the wooden bridge into Liberty square by the Chistmas shop so you can hear the hooves on the wood and see him rear the horse up. THe lines for candy are much longer than the lines to get cocoa and cookies at MVMCP. Both are completely different but I think MNSSHP has the edge up.

My sister and are usually playing in all the parks in the morning and then leave usually somewhere between 1:30-2:00. We go back to the hotel eat, nap, and then get ready. The party starts at 7 I believe but you can enter in your Halloween costumes at 4 they start giving out wristbands and asking people who arent there for the party to leave this makes a lot of rides free of lines! :] Hallowishes is at 9:30 and the second boo to you parade starts at 10:30.

Here's a good article on MNSS: http://www.easywdw.com/worth-2/is-mickey’s-not-so-scary-halloween-party-mnsshp-2010-worth-the-cost/

If you show up later in the day are there still lockers available? We are thinking of sleeping in and taking it easy in the morning and head to the park after the little ones take a morning nap (leave the resort around 11 and go to Kona Cafe for lunch then on to the park after). We don't want to carry around the costumes in the afternoon nor regular clothes in the evening if we can avoid it.
