Ok..were at the Fort Oct 2-10,...we've never been in the fall so were excited to see how different it is from our normal stays...(may or august). So my question is...has anyone been to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party? What was your opinion on it? (I know it depends on who it is, and how old/?,...I'm just trying to see if its something we should try out?) :rolleyes1

Also for those who have done it,...do they give ap's discounts? Or will it sell out before I get there, should I reserve our night now? I won't activate our ap's till we get there so if there's a discount of MNSSHP should I wait until I get there to buy it? just interested to see how other's have done it...

Ok...let the opinions roll in!:rotfl:

We've been, loved it. I say, "Go for it".
I'm pretty sure I love these things more than the kis :thumbsup2, course the kids seemed to really like it too.

and don't forget to dress up !!

We have done both Christmas and Halloween parties, and our favorite is the MNSSHP (the fact we were without the kids at the MNSSHP may have influenced my experience). There should be tickets available, but purchase ahead of time, you don't want the disappointment of not getting in. Rest up and stay to the end of the night, the crowd gets smaller the later it gets.

FW in the fall is my favorite, have a great trip.

We've also been and love it!! We're going again this year and it will count as our day at MK. The crowds are less, it is cooler and much more relaxed. A few attractions aren't open and only limited restaurants are available. Be sure to get a good spot for the parade, IMHO it is the best one. We just got a mailer the other day offering an AP discount but I don't think the price was any better than the advance purchase price.

Been there, done that, LOVED it.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I also hear Sunday is the best night to go.

We love it!!! We, too, have been to both halloween and Christmas parties and the halloween party is my favorite!

We're going to be at WDW while the Christmas party is going on and we're trying to decide between it and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review....We've never been to it.

in all honesty,...how many adults really dress up? I don't know if I can get my husband to do it,...lol....is it like 50/50?

Maybe I can get him to dress like a hippie.:hippie: OR pirate pirate:

In all honesty,,A LOT OF ADULTS dress up !
We did, on the other hand , in Disney yeas I'm only 7 .

Tell hubby that you'll be at Disney ,STOP BEING A GROWN UP !!

A LOT of people dress up. It's really cool to see families in theme. Like Captain Hook dad and Peter Pan son.

Pirates and Dalmatians are two popular family ones. As well as a ton of little girls that went to the BBB, but it's fun to see dads and brothers dressed up as a Prince.

I've gone as Sorcerer Mickey and King Mickey (from Kingdom Hearts video game). Kari has gone as Dream Finder (She drew in A LOT of attention, and every one wanted a picture with her), Davey Crockett, and Roxas (from Kingdom Hearts video game).

Last year we went with our friend Steven, dressed up as Roxas, Sora, and King Mickey.
The year we went as Sorcerer Mickey and Dream Finder, we found two other girls dressed exactly like us at the very end the of the night. We were taking a picture at the Ghost Mickey light, as we were picking up our bags the photographer yelled at us to come back, when we turned around we were looking at a mirror almost. So strange, and we took pictures together, which I still have.

Don't forget to decorate your site. Some people go to extremes during Halloween time, and probably more festive than Christmas.

The Halloween Parade is my favorite. Followed by the Pirate and Princess Party fireworks, and then the stage shows for the Christmas Party.

How much will it cost me to get you to post photos of you guys in costume?

This is the only one we can find. Denise was in the Chinese Princess costume.

That will cost you one personal chauffeured ride !

I made mine and Kari's costumes by hand. Our friend, the really tall one, bought his on the internet from a cosplay site. It took me over a month to make them both, but thank goodness for stitch witchery.

That is absolutely the BEST Mickey costume I have ever seen ! Didn't realize such a great Mickey could be ordered on on line !!

oh, wait, you were talking about the OTHER really tall one !
Never mind, my bad.

Deal, but because you only posted one photo, which BTW looks great, I will take only one of you on a personal chauffeured ride. I've seen a photo of Denise, I pick her.

We went for the last two years and LOVED it. Now that the oldest is in school and we are not traveling this fall, we are already feeling withdrawal. By this time last year we were ordering costumes so we'd have them in time for the trip (the costumes, by the way, were for the kids - we have not dressed up).

As others have said, plan to stay late - it is worth it. Even when our girls were 3 and 2, they stayed up and had a blast until 12:30! This year, especially, since it appears they are not letting ticket-holders in until 7pm, you want to be as prepped for the evening as possible. If we were going down this fall, we'd definitely be there.

luv the pics....anymore? I need ideas....for our family...DH, Me, 2 boys (4 & 1)....hmmmm? any ideas? :cool2:

I would love to see more pics...helps me get the wheel turning...
:yay:
Oh and someone mentioned Sunday night is the best night? just curious as to why?:flower3:

Done a few times so far & probably will do it again this upcoming trip.

It is pretty unique. Make sure to catch the Headless Horseman who rides before the Hallowween Parade.

I would recommend doing it on a slower week day, rather than a Friday or weekend. They do give AP discounts and as with anything Disney, advance purchase is best, but I have done a last minute purchase on a week night with no trouble in early October.

If you have your AP vouchers, they should be able to give you your discount from that.

Last year we did MNSSHP & MVMCP and I happen to LOVE the parade for both but there was just something more "fun" about the halloween party.

I convinced DH to dress up with us - we were a Peter Pan Family (DS was Peter, DD was tink, I was Wendy, and DH was Capt. Hook). DH really looked awesome as Hook (we got TONS of compliments on his costume) but ... he has sworn to NEVER dress up again!!! Between the fact that our bodies hadn't had enough time to acclimate to the warmer Florida weather (it was Nov 1 and we had come from chilly New England) and the fact that DH had to wear long pants, long sleeved shirt and overcoat, plus a wig/hat combo .... yeah, he was uncomfy. He now refuses to even entertain the notion of dressing up ever again :sad1:

I looooove the MNSSHP season. I have a ring side seat. I get in to it. So if you're on my bus, you're automatically entered into the best costume on the bus to MK contest. If you win, you get free transportation for your entire stay. What I find interesting is that just about all of the people I come across had to pack their costumes for the trip to WDW. For a family of four that takes up some serious luggage space. It's great fun though.

This will be our fourth year. Didn't dress up the first year, and have ever since. Two years ago our family of five (all adults now) dressed up from Peter Pan, last year we were from Wizard of Oz. My husband, who is not a dressing up type gets into it also. I make all of costumes. This year we have another family joining us as Snow White and the 7 dwarfs. Snow White is 3 y/o, the prince will be 9 months old, and the dwarfs are the 7 adults in the group. We also will be there the first week of October.
