We are going to be in Disney this October, and I have been planning on doing the MNSSHP. We have gone once before, and had a great time! :cool1: But now when I ask the kids (ages 15, 11, and 6) what they think, they don't have an opinion. They would go, would not go, makes no difference to them. Would you spend the money for tickets and go, figuring they will get excited about it once they are there? Or would you not go and plan something else fun, like a character dinner or a pool night? My main reason for going would be the 6 yr old. She was tiny last time and doesn't remember it. What do you think? :confused3

I have heard alot of great reviews of this event and my kids are really excited. We are definitely going to try it.

I would give them the option to go with you and Daughter 6 but let them know once the tickets are purchased they cannot change their minds and they cannot share her candy. This is one of the parts of Disney World that we really enjoy. We usually go every year and this year we exchanged out our DVC and we are going to Scottsdale instead. While I am sure we will have a great time I will really miss the MNSSHP and the F & W festival.

Go with DD6 and enjoy yourself. Be a kid again. If you really want to do it right you and your daughter should get costumes themed together, the other kids will be green with envy as you walk out of the room and they have to stay behind.

Have fun

I would pay double for Mickey's Not So Crowded Halloween Party.
I say "not crowded" because we went in the beginning of October, not the end.

We are going in Oct. We have heard that the MNSSHP is not to be missed!! :yay: . As a matter of fact, we will be attending 2 MNSSHP's to enjoy all the magic it has to offer. ::yes:: . When we went last Christmas we attended 2 MVMCP's.

Have a Disney Day
John

Here Here!!!

when paying $30 per person I too expected it to be less crowded than the daytime crowds - WRONG!! (Ok I admit it the $10 enight spoiled me!!)

IF you are prepared for the crowds, if you plan on getting a spot along the parade route (an hour prior!!) if you like HOT HUMID nights - long lines for penny candy... you will see an AWESOME firwork show - for $30 per person...

you decide...

I'm not sure if we'd do it again... debatable... if I have a better attitude, and a better costume - maybe!! I think the families that dressed up with a theme really had a wonderful experience...

Well, I think you do have a dilemma, and I think the kids are the key. I would be torn too as I that little one would love the candy, parade, fireworks and atmosphere, even if she didn't get to do so many rides. But then you have the two older ones. Gee.

As far as the two older ones go, I'd eliminate a character meal vs. party. I think they'd enjoy the party more than the character meal. So I guess I'd say pool night or party. Since you've already gone, you know what it's like. I think it's a toss up as to how crowded it is, some nights are, some nights are not.

If it were me, I guess I'd keep bugging them until I got a feel for it. I do think everyone would probably enjoy the party, esp. if you're already going to be planning other times at the pool. Then it boils down to the cost for you. Not much help.

You should definately go!!!
We make sure we go every year...it's not to be missed. It's not usually that crowded in early October. Awesome parade, Fantastic fireworks, lots of candy, and you get to see many characters that you usually don't see.
I think all of your kids will enjoy themselves!!!

I am hoping to it solo this year. My only problem is what costume, my mum thinks Tinkerbell would be a bit :rolleyes1

What night, what week? So many questions about the month and whether or not to do MNSSHP.

I've done both MNSSHP and MVMCP and love everything about the christmas party. All the decoration and this special party night but it was cold and I mean cold the night we attended. I think there was real snow on Main Street.

This past October we went the third week. Weather was beautiful 90's every day. This week fell in-between Columbus week and Halloween week. Holidays fell on the right time this year because it was a slow week. Did MNSSHP on Thursday night (An AP discount night) The park was not crowded at all. No waits for rides, candy lines were small, great seats for parade and fireworks. It's a not to miss night. Planned properly even with crowds it's a fun night. Yes there are some area's that people seem to gather about, other area's where you think your the only ones in the park.

If your a villian lover this is the party to attend. Everyone villian was out for the bash. The special castle show was awesome. Loved the parade. Loved the weather.

I can't wait to return in October 2007. Wouldn't miss this special night for anything.

:thumbsup2 We went to MNSSHP for the first time last Oct and it was the highlight of a great trip :cool1: I would do it again!

I just have to say that MNSSHP is my favorite thing at WDW. We have been 3 years in a row, and I have made no secrets about it to DH that we WILL go every Oct. no matter what. (I love the F&W Festival too!) Actually, we went twice last year. There are wonderful things at this party that you can ONLY see at the party (unlike the Christmas party. They have the same events from the party the whole week of Christmas for all guests.) They have special lighting and sound effects and songs throughout the park all night. They have the new Halloween parade and fireworks show which are both AMAZING and FUN. They have special Villian shows in front of the castle which is hilarious and times throughout the night to meet and greet the villians. They have trick or treating around the whole park, and most rides open and empty (even on sold out party nights we have walked on rides like BTMR and ridden several times in a row without getting off). They have costume contests and dance parties, and all the kids (and some adults) are all dressed up and cute. Plus, there are characters EVERYWHERE and very RARE characters a lot too. It's just one of my favorite things...so special and different. Definitely go.

MNSSHP is so much fun! Tell your kids that at least its a way to stay in the park til midnight :confused3

We've done the halloween and x-mas parties and we prefer the Halloween one hands down.

We did it on our trip Oct 05. we went on the 11th. It was more crowded then I thought it would be and really our son did not enjoy it that much, our daughter did. I thought it was chaos! It was near the end of our trip so we were exhausted by that point. If the kids want to do it next time we go then I would book it for closer to the beginning of our trip.

We did it two years ago and absolutely loved it. Probably would not do it again, but we are 100-percent happy we did it. Think of everything Disney does and how they put their own "touch" on it. Well, that's what they do with Halloween -- a Disney Halloween that's just amazing. Main Street itself is worth the extra bucks!
Have fun!!!
