since they are running non hard ticket people out at 7 pm not 6pm(if they are doing this) are they checking for wristbands in all areas of the park? ie rides, shows, shops, parades and dinning? just wondering.....i'm seeing if its going to be worth it to suprise DW with a trip to WDW and see MNSSHP. thanks in advance

From what I experienced, they were checking everywhere.

We just got back and I can say that there are CM's everywhere at 7 pm and you had better have a wrist band on. One family was saying that part of the group was in another area of the park and the CM told them to wait by the exit as all people without wrist bands will be leaving. As a party goer with a hard ticket it was a pleasure to see that they did a great job and keep the crashers out.

Before 7PM there were just swarms of CMs standing around waiting for the announcement. We were way back in Frontierland when 7 came, so I think things were a little more discreet than say Main Street, since there weren't as many people back there but I did notice CMs casually checking to make sure everyone in line had a wristband. They really tried to keep it pretty non-invasive to paying guests. Just quickly glancing instead of making each person hold up their wristband for each line. I'd imagine those with sleeves covering their wristbands were asked to show, but most people had short sleeves or sleeveless which allowed CMs to easily see.

We arrived about 6:15 pm. There were CMs everywhere and on Main Street they were holding signs directing them out. At about 7:20 in Tomorrowland I still saw lots of families without, some just sitting to the side and watching.....like maybe they were waiting to see if they could stay. There was one large family having a "discussion" with a CM who was telling them to head out. They didn't seem pleased. I think after 7:45 or so I didn't notice anyone else without the bands.

Yes, they checked everywhere when we were there 10/2. After 8 pm, we didn't see anyone without a wristband.

I do have a complaint that all should be aware of. They would not put out the special merchandise until 7:45, stating they were waiting for all non paying guests to leave. :confused3 When it did come out there was a frenzy of guests who plowed each other over trying to get the t shirts, frames and Mickey plush. We did not dress up and had planned on wearing the Halloween shirt for the night. Not knowing what to expect of the party, taking a whole hour really wasted time for us.

I'd do things a lot different next time.

I plan on getting there around 4:30 and was wondering if they would be handing out wristbands this early and where are the locations to get them?
TIA :goodvibes

Is there a certain place at the gate to get the wristbands? We are doing AK on the 31st with 5 pm ressies at Rainforest before we head back to the Pop to get ready for MNSSHP.

Thanks!

They start taking the party tickets thru the turnstyles at 4:00p and there will be CMs there to put the wristband on you as you go thru the turnstyle.

They will have a separate entrance for party goers after 4:00p.

I take issue with Disney's policy of allowing hard ticket holders in the park so early. If I paid $65+ for admission, I'd be ticked off to see someone pay $40 and soak up three hours of "my" time in the park when their ticket very clearly states that the party starts at 7 P.M. It is my understanding that the day guests were being "herded" out of the various lands as early as 6:45.

Why are the day guests called "crashers" if they're shopping on Main Street at 7:01 P.M., but it's perfectly fine for MNSSHP goers to arrive up to three hours early? Sounds like a double standard to me.

I agree and disagree with you.

First off, I am going to MVMCP so I'm coming from this as a hard ticket holder.

First off, I agree with you that day guests should not be called "crashers". As a person who goes to WDW A LOT, I can admit that they generally do not do a great job of informing guests as to what is going on. Sure there's a sign talking about it and mentioning an early closing but, you have to realize, not every guests is on boards like these and aware of what MNSSHP even is.

Some first time guests go there and are clueless. Also, some just want to be there, not even riding rides, so they're not really "crashing" anything.

I've never felt that WDW has done an adequate job of informing non-informed guests of the ongoings in the park. The ADR's are a PERFECT example of that. I see guests on every trip being turned away without ADR's and the guest being turned away had no clue there was any such policy (and I'm sorry but fine print does not make people aware).

Now, I also agree with you about the idea that you pay full admission price to get into the park for a limited day and those without full priced tickets can come in and enjoy it for cheaper.

However there's a couple things I think could change that idea. First off, I dont think a large portion of hard-ticket holders dont have day tickets or some sort of seasonal/annual pass. yes there are some but, the majority already have day tickets to some park. Secondly, I think the night is more fun, and you could easily forego your day ticket, buy the cheaper party ticket and STILL get 8 hours in the park for the cheaper price, and reap the benefits of the party. Lastly, if you do not plan on going to the party, I'd simply suggest doing a different park on that day.

In general I think Disney does a good job with the party and as a party goer, I'd like to enjoy the price of my admission, because remember, while you paid $65 for your day at the park, I paid over $300 for my AP and I'm paying an addional $90 for my wife and I go to that night. It's a two way street but, I do agree with you on most of your opinion.

I will have a park hoope ticket and use it that morning to go to MGM...I just realize that getting there at 4 they are not going to look at my park hopper if I have a hard ticket...otherwise, I'd use the park hopper to get in. I do agree that when you think about it in that way as far as hard ticket holders getting in that early it does seem a bit unfair. However, as civileng68 stated-alot of people do not read these boards and that includes people who have tickets to MNSSHP. On the tickets and brochure it states that the party begins at 7. So I would venture to say that most guests with a hard ticket will wait until 7.

Wendy, you and CivilEng are both correct. But, I have noticed several party-goers proclaim that they're planning on a 4 P.M. entrance to a party that starts at 7 P.M., then in the next breath call anyone remaining in the park past 7 P.M. a "gate-crasher." You both bring very valid points to the table, however. :thumbsup2

I have to aggree that letting people in that early with MNSSHP tickets is a little odd. Though I am happy they are really checking wristbands to keep out the "crashers" I paid for Not So Scary for the added benefits and don't really think people should get away with staying in. The hours are posted for the regular park that day and people should respect that or cough up the cash to stay. Thanks to everyone for this info. I am going on the 17th and am really looking forward to it.

I agree with you Finnster. I agree that a 4:00 entry may hamper and be unfair a bit. However, Disney allows them in, so you can't fault anyone.

However, I definately agree that those who have day tickets shouldn't be called "crashers" because they stay until 7:00, but I think that person was mainly referring to those staying in the later hours. I dont call them that because so many people are being told to leave the park, while a group is staying in, and they are more confused than anything.

I guess I never thought of it that way. It would be kind of like day guests staying until 10 pm.

At any rate, I paid for the full day and the party as we were at Epcot for most of the day before the party and just hopped over to MK.

Those day guests who innocently stay a little late due to not knowing what's going on are not 'crashers' and shouldn't be called that but there definitely are those who try or have succeeded in staying (maybe not this year, but definitely in the past) for the whole party and sometimes even brag about it; they are 'crashers' and quite the same as a party guest who is told by Disney they can enter after 4:00p with their party ticket. Disney does allow that. They started allowing that after 9/11 so as to not have a bottle neck effect at 7:00p, and now with the park not closing for an hour before the parties, they've been even more vocal about letting party goers know they can enter after 4:00p with just their party ticket.

Entering after 4:00p by party goers is allow and encouraged by Disney, while staying for the party without a party ticket isn't and is discouraged.

I can understand where you are coming from and that would make me a bit angry as well. I don't know how MK markets their announcements for events. Do they post it at the gate, on the guidemaps, etc. :confused3 ? It's been 13 years since I was there last.

This is our first time going to MNSSHP and I was wondering how they were going to do this transition. My first thought was that the park would close at 6 pm to make sure everyone was out of the park before the event. Then re-open at 7. That makes the most logical sense to me. Trying to usher everyone out that doesn't have a wrist band, makes it more stressfull both on the visitors and the CM's. Especially with it overlapping. I don't know how they do it.

Thanks for that response to Wendy1974. I also had a similar question posted.
