Just purchased tickets for our first ever Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!! Very, very excited!! :woohoo: Now, just have to come up with some cool "family" costumes. pirate: We need one for DH, Mom (me), and DS (4) ... and perhaps DS (17), DD (14), DSD (12). Not sure if the older kids will dress up, but we parents and preschooler will.

Any ideas??

That's great, MNSSHP is a real treat. The parade and shows are not to be missed.

Have you thought about dressing up as the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, etc) or you could be Donald, Daisy and then have the kiddos be Heuey, Louie, and Dewey or baby ducks? But then again those might be hot costumes.

A family of Pirates would be a little cooler and maybe the teens would buy into that.

We're going for the first time this year, too! So excited :cool1: We've only ever gone in the summer, so looking forward to a fall trip. I'm not sure what costumes to get, either. I'm sure we'll have fun deciding :goodvibes

This will be our 3rd year going to the MNSSHP! We went on a whim back in 2008 and have been hooked on it since. The Boo To You Parade and fireworks are amazing. You will have a great time...older kids included.

We went in pajamas with mickey bears.
LOL Hey it's an excuse to were pjs in the MK. plus it's comfy(:

Thanks for your ideas everyone. I received our tickets in the mail this week. YAY!!! We are so looking forward to attending this event.

I suggested a group pirate thing, but only the 4-year-old agrees with being a pirate. Then I suggested Peter Pan characters as DH would finally agree to being Captain Hook. Then we tossed around the idea of Alice in Wonderland characters as DH would love to be Mad Hatter (and the 4yo as well). I was thinking about the Queen of Hearts for myself. My daughters could be "big Alice and small Alice", but they do not want to be Alice at all. So, I believe we will either go as different "Disney" characters (older DD wants to be Minnie Mouse) or go as group of mouseketeers with personalized shirts, ears, etc.

I realize that the party is three months away, but I want to get the costumes figured out and completed so I can check that off my Disney to do list. My overplanning is driving my family crazy ... HAHAHAHA!! In my humble opinion, I'd rather have a plan and then be prepared to go with the flow as each moment sees fit. I feel nothing captures magical moments like spontaneity, but I find those moments are always encapsulated within my grand plans. And, to think I was never a girl scout nor a planner until I hit my thirties...HA!

So excited, so excited ...

Michele
