Hi all,

So I can't decide shall we wear costumes? If so what? We're flying over from UK so space is a premium and we are going first day we arrive so no time for shopping when we get to Orlando.

What's everyone else going as? Don't really wanna be a pirate. Thinking Alice, or Dorothy or maybe Red Riding hood. Is that too boring?

vampire?

Im not going but if i was id be vampire.

Depends on how fancy you want to be. One year the girls wore black, we bought these headbands with cat ears, put whiskers on with mascara, and went as cats. We had tails, but they really got in the way. The guys wore lab coats and those fake glasses with a nose and moustache and went as mad scientists. Not much, but got us in the mood, and packed real easy.

For MNSSHP kids are going as Tinkerbell, Peter Pan and Wendy. Simple costumes. Although I haven't yet found Wendy's blue nightgown for my niece, I've been stalking ebay for one.

Not sure what my sister and I are doing yet. We were thinking of being Mouseketeers. Simple. White shirts with our names and Mickey ears. I had a notion of being Captain Hook to go with the kid's theme, but changed my mind. Too complicated and hot.

YES!!!! And if you are dressing up at all, you escape the "boring" label! :thumbsup2

DGf and I went as Mary Poppins and Bert (the chimney sweep - though my accent was w-a-yyyy better than the original!! ). We had extra time after arrival, so I shipped the "pole" portion of my chimney brush ahead of time. Since you're flying from the UK, avoiding props would be wise for space reasons. Disney characters are always nicer, IMHO, if possible. Alice would be very apropos if you are looking for a costume with "UK flavor." (If your husband is comfortable as Alice! :rotfl: ) It felt like pirate was overdone. LOTS of Jack Sparrows....

If you are interested for whatever reason, PM me and I'll send you a pic of us as Mary and Bert. We felt like rock stars. We were stopped for pictures over and over and over. Several asked if we were "Official Disney," even CMs! One of the most fun times either of us had ever had!!

Hope you have a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

Well...if you wanted something super easy, you could each get a brightly colored t-shirt and do an iron-on transfer of a big "m" and go as M&M's. Be prepared though for the people that make remarks about which one of you is plain...and which one is peanut!

I see you are from Reading. No thought of being "Royals"?

Poor puns aside, I think a smart looking set of characters from Alice in Wonderland would be a great sight.

we're going to MNSSHP... and I don't know if we'll dress up. I mean, I wouldn't even know where to begin with a costume. No masks, right? All of the sudden, I don't have a creative bone in my body!!

I would choose something that takes very little or no face paint. It can still be hot and humid in October.

I thought of Mary Poppins, it's one of my faves in fact I thought I'd found the practially perfect Edwardian dress on ebay but sadly my portley posteria wouldn't have squeezed into it.

Also thought about Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum of course I'll be Dee and hubby... :rotfl: Much more fun than Indiana Jones don't you think....

Eastoncat you talking about the football team or the actual Royals.

Oh I love fancy dress. I feel the sewing machine coming out.

We went as Alice in Wonderland last year-- DD4 was Alice and the rest of use were cards-- easy, just a t-shirt with iron on number and suit but it worked and was fun. We even got a picture with the Queen of Hearts and white rabbit.
