We are going Sept. 15 and I just found out that MNSSHP is on the same night...we are not planning on going to this event ....BUT... we always start our trip by going to MK the first day... now it seems we can't ..or if we do we need to leave by 7PM!! What to do ? Any opinions? My planning is in chaos now:confused3

Do you plan on doing this event at all? If not I would consider it- we love it.

If not just pick another day for MK cause you have to exit the park at 6.

If you don't have hoppers then yes pick another park for that day.

We use the MNSSHP as an extra day in the parks as you are allowed in at 4pm. We stay for 14 nights.

If you are going to MK and your kids see all of the people in costume they will want to be a part of the party .
Break tradition and start at another park unless you have park hoppers bc you will have to leave by 6:00
Go to Chef Mickeys for dinner. Thats how we start our holiday.

Good Luck planning!

Are you set on not going to the party? It really is the best extra ticketed event in the Mk IMO.
If not then you will just have to choose another park to go to that first day!

Our kids, DS3.5 and DS 1.5 at the time, loved it last year. So much so that we took them to it TWICE in the same week. The parade is fantastic, the show at the castle is fantastic and they got to go trick-or-treating three times last year. What kid would not want Halloween three times in one month?

But as others have said, if this party is not for you then consider starting elsewhere. We noticed kids in Halloween costumes pretty much all day.

I'm honestly in the same boat as the OP and kind of similar to the PP.

DS will be 14 months by the time we go and our first day there (Sept. 25...DW's bday) has a MNSSHP happening. We're not planning on going as we don't think DS will be able to make it for the majority of the party. I know that DW and I would love it and the little fella probably would too but I think we'd be pushing our luck and wasting our money.

I agree with everyone else, either hop to another park at 6pm or go to the party if you are stuck on going to MK that first day. The party is really worth the money, it is so fun, we are going again this year. But if you do not have hopper passes I would not waste the park day in MK cause there is no Spectro or Wishes that night and you need to leave at 6pm and last year we did see them checking people throughout the park, numerous times, who did not have wristbands on and politely telling them to leave or buy a MNSSHP ticket.

I would either pick a new park this year or go. I know it is a lot of money to spend but you can still do MK and not use a park ticket that day and have a great time too!

Just my opinion... but I would not do the party the day you arrive. I find people who've just driven or gotten off a plane don't seem to enjoy the party as much; let's be honest, travel days can be long and tiring. This way, there is no stress about staying at the party, especially if you or anyone in your family is worn out.

I'd start at another park your first night or maybe hit your fav character restaurant (no harm in a new tradition!) - then pick another night during your stay to take in MNSSHP if you so choose.

Thanks for all the advice! I think we will just try to get in to Chef Mickeys that first night and make an earlier night of it. We will be up since 4 am after all!!

Maybe check out the halloween party anoter night - it really is a great time.My DH wasn't thrilled with the idea but the park is totally transformed. Or if you don't go on the first night, eat at a restuant in the MK circle like Grand Floridian. If you time it right you'll be able to see the special Halloween Party fireworks. They are by far the best I've seen. Good luck & happy planning!
