I will be visiting WDW 10/18-27 & plan to attend a party. If you had to choose between: Thursday 10/20, Friday the 21st, Sunday the 23rd, or Tuesday the 25th, which would you choose? I'd prefer to go to one that is less crowded & have read that Tuesdays and Thursday's are typically a little less crowded. That said, being where we are there so close to Halloween, maybe it doesn't make much difference as they all will be crowded? We've been twice before - once in Sept of '13 on a Sunday (reasonable crowds!) & again in '14 - can't recall the day of the week, but believe it was the night before Halloween, which might explain the crowds as it was nuts! Would like to avoid that happening again if at all possible! TIA!

It's a limited ticket event, there really isn't less crowded as it's always the same number of tickets sold each party.

I generally recommend going to the earliest one you can in your trip. If there is an issue with weather, you are going to be less tolerant wearing costumes and being in the rain. Also most of the halloween extras in the party are outdoors so your not going to be running from ride to ride to stay dry and continue your night. Disney has given out tickets for one of the next dates for people that complained and left early and you can't use them if your not still at WDW.

Now if there is multiple dates you can do that, I like the crowds that are there on the weekdays between than the weekends so I would recommend tuesday or thursday. Sunday might not be too bad but never done it on a sunday. Crowded is relative depending on how many are only doing the halloween or only doing the rides. Weekdays seems a good mix of both and the visitors seem a little less rude.

This is very helpful! I wasn't aware that Disney would offer a ticket to another party if the weather was awful for the party we attended. I've been waiting to purchase tickets until last minute when I know the forecast as I definitely don't want to spend that money and have torrential rain! But of course I risk the chance that the party could sell out if I wait that late. Also good to know that the weekdays seem to be a better option. Thanks so much!

I think it depends on your preference. Would you feel better about going if it was closer to Halloween, or does it not matter? If it doesn't matter all that much, I'd probably try a Tuesday or a Thursday.. since it might have a less likelyhood of selling out and therefor being less crowded? Never can tell though. Disney crowds have a way of being surprising. :) Also if you think you might want to do other events, that should get taken into account too?

Example. We are also hitting up Club Villian. When we first booked, I don't think they had released dates for Club Villian in Oct... so I bought my MNSSHP for the 31st. Once I became aware, I tried to get a rez for the 30th (all sold out.. yikes!). Everything was coming up booked except for the 31st. I was super bummed that we might miss Club Villian entirely. Luckily I checked online, and got a Rez for the 28th.

If I could do it again, I would check any other events going on that we might want to do and see what the dates they have open are like.

To make sure it's clear, it's not freely offered and if you stay at the party there is no way your getting another ticket. the terms of purchase are rain or shine, non-refundable. Sometimes the bad weather is never ending and you go to leave pretty early in the evening. Most last until they start to hear stage shows or a parade canceled and then get in line at guest relations on their way out of the park to try to get a refund.. If you stay around, your not going to have much leverage that the weather ruined the evening. There is also a chance you won't get much from them, especially since the forecasts are pretty good on when the rain will stop and they know some things are just delayed or they might keep the place opened an extra hour or two.

but even if you don't get a refund or another ticket you still have the time to decide if it's worth trying to attend the party again even if you have to pay for it again.
