Hello Everyone,

After much deliberation me and DH have decided not to wear costumes at the MNSSHP on the 14th September.

We are both dubious about the amount of people in costumes at this time of year and decided we would feel really uncomfortable if we were OTT and others weren’t.

So we are going to design some t-shirts and wear those instead (they will have a Disney theme).

I feel a little sad in doing this but its for the best as my DH would kill me if we turned up in costumes and everyone else didn’t.

What is everyone else doing?

Do many design their own t-shirts?

Last time I went , there were more people dressed up, than not. We however didnt dress up, but in no way did we feel out of place. Its amazing the amount of effort people go to with their costumes. We wont be dressing up this year either

We will be there on the 14th as well and as much as I would like to dress up the husband will not have anything to do with it. See you at the party.

Last time we went to MNSSHP we all wore matching Haunted Mansion T'shirts. We did see a lot of others with T'shirts on that they had done themselves.

I think it's a great idea.

hey, who cares how many people are dressed up?
As long as you are having fun.
We are all dressing up
Me - Cinderella
DH - Jack Sparrow
DD - Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Dh has been collecting items for authenticity for almost a year:rotfl:
I ordered my dress 10 months ago and CANNOT wait to wear it.
DD will be going to BBB to become Princess Aurora.
Excited? YES WE ARE! I dont care if we are the only ones dressed up, but I can tell you now - we will really enjoy it!
(we are going twice just to make sure:rotfl: :rotfl: )

Me and DH will probably just get a spooky t shirt,

DD10 wants to go as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz
DD5 wants to go as Batgirl

Strange combo of outfits there then !:rotfl:

Hi there

We are planning on going to MNSSHP when we are there this September.

Have you already booked your tickets, if so, who with ?

Many thanks

:thumbsup2

A lot of adults dress up, but I've never been uncomfortable not dressed up (though I plan to this year). Many also dress up for P/P party.

OMG! From the thread title, I thought you were dressing up as chickens!!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I'm probably just going to wear pirate-y stuff that I have for Pirate Night on our DCL cruise. Great idea about designing your own t-shirts. Whatever you wear I'm sure it'll be fantastic...:thumbsup2

Ok, heres some pics for you all to laugh at. We have always dressed up, I would say it was about 3/4 dressed up to 1/4 not, for us it added to the evenings.
1st one from Oct 2005 we were picked out to ride on the Omnibus before the parade and wave at the crowds.
Cant find the other one but we were just as scarey. LOL

His costume got so much attention especially from the Americans, they thought it was hilarious. We had loads of conversations with people asking about his costume, it was great! One American family even asked to have their photo done with him!!:rotfl:

This was us last year,

I want to go as gothic fairy and DD wants to so as sleeping beauty however the sleeping beauty dress she has was brought for paris weather in March, so will have to get her a new one.

Love the pics and costume ideas everyone.:thumbsup2

We are going to our first MNSSHP this year. I absolutely love Halloween! We are all going in similar outfits and have a theme but it's a secret, LOL. All costumes will be hand made by my mum, and I. All in all there are 7 of us, me, DH, DD10, DD7, my mum, dad and sister. Can't wait!! :cool1:

Trust me you won't feel out of place whether you dress up or not, but you do have more fun if you get dressed up.

My partner and I were worried when we went for the same reasons but finally we decided to get dressed up and it was a blast!

We wen't as Snow White and the Wicked Queen and it really made the evening.

Here's a list of some of the things that happened:

Got asked for autograph (twice)
Got asked for directions
Got to pose with Wicked Queen
Had lots of characters interact with me during the parade (including the musicians on the Haunted Mansion float worshiping me and Snow White screaming when she saw me and running away).
Lots more interaction with other guests (people just stopped and chatted).

All in all, I would recommend dressing up, but it's not a big deal if you don't.

My post count is too low to add a link, otherwise I'd show you our outfits.

If you don't feel confident about going the whole hog and dressing up, you could always just get some subtle theatrical makeup or a wig/hat :)

We would love to dress up! And if we got pirate costumes we would wear them on the cruise too for pirate night!

Where is everyone getting their costumes??
