MNSSHP vs. MVMCP??

Have you been to both? Which is your favorite? We went to MVMCP last year and really enjoyed it. I am thinking about October this year instead. It will give the kids a chance to see the MK not decked out for Christmas. Will the Halloween party be a bit of a let down after being there for Christmas?

Are the majority of the costumed guests in Disney stuff?

You wil LOVE MNSSHP! We did it first in 2003, and MVMCP last Dec 2005. We all agreed we liked MNSSHP even better than MVMCP. The park at night is just so amazing w/ the pumpkins and spooky colors about. All the chars in halloween costumes...the trick or treating....and the parade and FW were UNBelievable. We thought even better than MVMCP. Especially the parade.

Yes, many many many guest are dressed up. We went as the peter Pan family. DS4 at the time was Captn Hook (w/out the heavy coat...he was really a pirate, w/ a hook). DH was Peter Pan. DD1 was Tinkerbelle and I was Wendy. It was so much fun. If you opt for costumes, be sure to bring something you can layer if a cool evening, or now be too hot in if it's a hot night. Our night was humid and in the 90s - we were quite comfortable. We saw many uncomfortable kids and adults in heavy costumes.

Thanks! I am still on the fence. I think MNSSHP would be awesome. But the Christmas Season in general is just so festive and happy.

If you've been to MVMCP then all you can do is go to MNSSHP and decide which one YOU like better!

We loved MNSSHP last year. We had almost 20 people in our group and also dressed as characters from Peter Pan. MK has such a unique feel to it at the party. We absolutely loved it. It was one of the most fun times we've had at the MK and the fireworks have become our favorite. The music was amazing. I could go on and on. It was just alot of fun.

Love them both so we alternate each year. This year we'll be doing MNSSHP.

Last year we were luckly enough to do BOTH (thanks to free dining and low airfare)!!

We have been going to MVMCP for the last 3 years and decided to try MNSSHP for the first time this October and we can't wait! All the posts about the Halloween party on these boards were enough to convince us (although we do LOVE it when the World is all decked out for the Christmas season and we'll be sad to not see it this year).

My husband is so geared up for this that he even ordered tickets to go for 2 party nights during our stay! He said that way, we can definitely take our time and not be rushed to do this or see that because we can always catch it the next party...what a smart hubby I have.

I will definitely post my thoughts comparing the two when we return in November.

I think everyone is different and which one you like best depends on the person in particular.

We went to both parties in 2005 (MNSSHP in Oct and MVMCP in Dec)

Both are great!

I though that while both parks were decorated, the Christmas decorations were much more impressive, such as, HUGE Christmas tree and Main street was decked out! Both have great character costumes.

I just love Christmas time and found it to be more enjoyable for me.

I think the MNSSHP was something where I found it to be really cool, while the MVMCP was a more "fun" and "happy" atmosphere.

My personal opinion - Holiday Wishes (or FITS as they call it) BLEW AWAY THE Hallowishes at MNSSHP. The musical score and display were just so much more impressive to me.

Both parades are really cool but I liked MVMCP better.


A big factor to me is that it was nice to be able to be in the MK when it was a little brisk out, and eating free cookies and hot cocoa (all you can eat/drink).

A VERY VERY cool thing also is the "fake snow". the snow is really cool on Main Street. With the music, the lights, the decorations, the tree, and the snow, it is just a truly magical experience. You dont want to leave.

Also, if you go during the Christmas holidays, the other parks are much more decorated for Christmas than Halloween.

Both are very cool, dont get me wrong, but, I just found so much more enjoyment at MVMCP.

My favorite is MNSSHP - but part of the reason is that I'm more of a Halloween person than a Christmas person. Well, I'm even sure that is true. It's just that with the now 2-month long extravaganza that Christmas has become, I don't "need a little Christmas". I'm kinda numb to it. But the whole Halloween celbration still feels unique.
