Howdy everyone!

I am planning a long weekend here in a few weeks. I wasn't really planning to do parks. Mainly just Springs and eating all the food.

But, here I am....thinking about doing some after-hours options.

Thinking of either doing a Friday MNSSHP. I have done a few MNSSHPs in the past, to mediocre results. One year was Halloween night, and it was nuts. One year it rained most of the time which it was fun but being in costume like a drowned rat....meh. But, any chance I can get to visit the Magic Kingdom is a great day. I've not done Tron yet. I'm also hoping that with my party date being not the very first one, but also not October either, that maybe I may run into some lesser crowds.

I also have the option for H2OGlow Nights on that Saturday. This one I've not done before, so it would be a new one. It's definitely unique, and more frugal. (but also fewer hours) It is a solo trip, though, and I feel like this would be something maybe a little more fun with family/with a group. But, it would definitely be more relaxing, which was sort of my goal with this long weekend.

If you have done both, which one would you lean toward?

Or, if you have done the H2O Glownights.....$85 for that vs $119 for MNSSHP.....would you say it's worth the price, comparatively?

If it were me, I'd do the MNSSHP.
You can get in at 4 and it runs until midnight, so that's technically 8 hours you can spend in MK. There's parades, fireworks, shows, meet and greets, low wait times on rides. Plus, we love the atmosphere. The downside is that you'll have to pay for all of your food and drinks (unless you plan on eating candy all night). And rain can make a miserable experience.

With H2O Glow, you can get in at 6 and ends at 11. But technically it doesn't start until 8, so that's only 3 hours of party time as opposed to MNSSHP which has 5 hours. Fountain drinks, popcorn, and ice cream novelties are all free, so you won't go hungry or thirsty. IMO, the best parts are the dancing and the wave pool.
My biggest turn off, is that it's really dark, and unless you're familiar with Typhoon Lagoon, it can end up taking you a long time to find what you are look for. And of course the weather. If there's thunder in the area, the event may close early, or may not even open at all!

I've done both and love both. I guess I'm here voting for both! I've always enjoyed MNSSHP even when it was crowded - rain is always a bummer. If you just have a few targeted things to do and enjoy the atmosphere, parade, fireworks - it can be fun. H2O Glow is one of my favorites as well. I have very bad knees and use an ECV so all I do is the lazy river but I love being there at night - less crowds and no sunscreen needed. I think MNSSHP is more bang for the buck but the Glow party is fun. My son went with me and said some (or one?) of the rides you need more than one person to do so he couldn't do that one. Not sure if he could have hung around and waited for another party to come that he could join.

Thanks everyone for your input.

Yes the rain during the previous MNSSHP was a bummer, indeed. Especially because it wasn't just a Florida pop-up storm. It was a deluge that lasted for a couple of hours. I will say that after the rain came and went, it was a pretty good time. Just wish I wasn't drenched doing it. (I had a poncho but it did little good)

We are going and doing both to maximize our experience since it’s a short weekend. We are even doing DAH HS as well. Expensive bit if it gets lower crowds, worth it.

HS After Hours would have been my choice. Unfortunately, I won't be in till Thursday. Was hoping maybe Epcot would have some AH options, but looks like they didn't extend it into the fall.

I’m fortunate that I’m arriving on the 29th and that’s the only night they are having it on a Thursday.
