This was probably the biggest Disney-related mistake I have ever made. My DD4 is afraid of all the villains...and who is out and about on those nights? Yes the villains! Their music is even piped through the speakers!

So beware...if you are going with little ones...make sure they are ok with the bad guys! Mine screamed for 30 minutes until we took her to ToonTown for the night! Princesses are there!

It was the biggest Disney mistake we ever made too!!!! I will never do it again.. I was so afraid it totally scared her of Disney for good.. but as soon as we found the princesses and Donald Duck we were ok! I will never do that party again.. but the Christmas is wonderful! I should have known better too but I thought since it was a not so scary party we were ok.. but no way! Be ware of all the scary music to a child!!!!!! The best thing for us is we found Snow White and the 7 dwarfs!!!!!!! It made up for the worst night there!

Wow! This surprises me. We got to the park at 4:30 and didin't see a single villain until the 10:00 parade! Where were you? We stayed mostly in the back of the park between Frontierland and Toontown. We didn't even see the Queen of Hearts along the Alice path!

I only saw villians at the Castle for their new song/show and then a mix and mingle. There was a sign that they'd be there.

Then we saw them in the parade but it didn't seem scary to me or my little girls. They are also in the regular parades so I don't see a difference.

I could see how the fireworks might be scary to little ones (not mine though) but not the party or parade IMHO.

We LOVE MNSSHP and have been going since my girls were 3 and 6 years old. I say go and see for yourself.

Yeah I'd like to know where too b/c we would like to see the villains. Of all the times we've been to Disney I've only seen Captain Hook. DH, my mom and myself are dressing up as villains for MNSSHP so I'd love to take pics with them.

They had a new show at the Castle that was shown about 3 or 4 times through the night. Then they came down for photos/autographs. I really wanted my photo with Meleficent but my DD wanted Captain Hook!

The only other place I saw them was in the parade.

We saw/heard the show from afar and that scared my DD4. Then my DH saw Jafar before we did and we turned around fast! Jafar was right outside the new Pooh playground.

yes we saw a lot of Villians just walking thru out the park like Jafar and Cruella...

on another note.. another day we were there.. Cruella was in the Castle signing autographs which scared my little one to death... I thought the cinderellas castle was suppose to be a happy thing... she didn't like the villian in there at all.. this was for breakfast instead of the fairy Godmother Cruella was in there!

Just wondering, to those of you who have children that were afraid of the villains. Did your children know the characters or do they just know they look scary? I'm more worried about my DD3 kicking Jafar or Hook for what they did to Aladdin and Peter Pan.

My little girl saw the Peter Pan movie and didn't like Capt Hook for that reason but with all the music she was scared.. its something that I should have known better.. I would have been better off putting the money toward the princess tea party where she would have received the doll.. for just a little more money... but I live in learn.. I am glad I went or I would not have known! Its fun for older children for sure!!!!!!!!!

My girls were afraid during the parade---they had zombies (not so bad actually)---with metal shovels...scraping them on the ground causing sparks. The villains I could expect....coming into your face with abrupt turns and loud noises...does not a "not-so-scary" party make.

We still had a good time--and someone dropped a twenty--so we made money out of that :) (yes we looked for the people--couldn't find them).

(This was last year, don't know about the parade this year).

Ya know - I never thought about that. Good tip. Thanks for brining up the "little kid scary factor" - My poor DD (3) got scared at Wal Mart the other day in the Halloween Section and doesn't want to go back to Wal Mart now. It could ruin MK for a kid that is just learning was scariness is and is not.

Ok, I'm definitely taking the kids for the MNSSHP in the future. DS loves Maleficent, and my other DS loves Captain Hook! They all 3 think the Villains are the best.

I'm sorry that your DD was scared. It's never fun to have a little one traumatized. Hope she had a blast with the Princesses!~

:goodvibes My dd3.5 was scared of the skeleton at the Wal Mart entrance the other day!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I think it is something to do with the fact that it is a "Doll"!!!

We are going to MNSSHP on 10/13. :earboy2:
