MNSSHP Tickets

So, are the parties basically always on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays?

In October they are usually Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The exception is Columbus Day week. They do not have a party on the Sunday or Tuesday surrounding Columbus Day. They have a party on the day itself (a Monday).

Thanks! That's great info! We are flying to WDW on Columbus Day and instead of just sitting around all night waiting for Tuesday to come, we can go to the party instead!

Looking at the Oct hours earlier, I was contemplating whether to do the Mon 10/13 party (Columbus Day) or whether a Thu (10/16) or Sun (10/19) is better.

We're steering clear of any Fridays. My recollection is that while crowds are up earlier in Columbus Day wknd, the Mon itself generally isn't bad. Am I crazy on this one? :confused3

Outside of that Mon, wondering whether Thu or Sun are generally less crowded...? I'd guess Sun, but I'm sure others have more experience with this than I... even though we have done this party several times... :)

Until last year, Columbus Day was a light crowd party. Last year, it and dates around it sold out. There is now no evening EMH anywhere on Sunday the 19th, which could increase party attendance. That was the day I was planning on going, but I need to review the hours to figure out if I want to switch. So many schools now have Fall Breaks, and it has really impacted October crowds. Still very manageable, but I highly suggest picking a date that fits best with your schedule and buying tickets early.

I didn't realize those dates sold out last year!! Thanks so much! :goodvibes

I know that there's so much variability with these things, but is there any listing on here of roughly when these Fall breaks hit?

And is there any such thing as consensus on whether Thu or Sun is generally better? :confused3 I think that one of each of those COULD work with our schedule so far...

Sundays and Thursdays are fairly equal, with the slight edge going to Sundays. You can see the dates that sold out last year in post #1 of my guest list thread (noted in green)...

As for Fall Breaks, most of them will be some combination of the first 3 full weeks of October. Some schools get one week and some get two. Some still get none, but that number is decreasing every year.

Sooo helpful! Thanks so much!!! :worship:

Our dates are Oct 9-20, so I guess we'll catch a bunch of those breaks... I'm sure it'll be ok, but always good to be prepared! :)

I never heard of this "fall break" business until coming to the disboards. How can schools take two weeks off in October? Do they stay in school until late June?

Here, you get Labor Day, Columbus day, and a couple days for Thanksgiving off, but that's it between the start of the school year and Christmas.

We start around August 20. We get one week off in October, 3 days for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at Christmas, and one week in March. Plus a few normal holidays. We get out around June 5th

My nieces and nephews live in IN, and they started school on Aug 1. They get two weeks in October, 3 days at Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas and two weeks in March. Plus a few other days. They also get out in early June. This is their first year of this more balanced schedule.

We were really excited this year because we all finally had Spring Break at the same time (our only week was their second week), but due to all of the snow this year, they took their second week away.

So instead of hanging out in IN for the week on the cheap, we are now taking DH's parent to Pigeon Forge on the not so cheap. :rotfl:
