MNSSHP ticket changes?

I ordered my MNSSHP tickets for Oct 10 (Friday). Immediately after I hung up, I looked at the calendar again and realized that it is Columbus Day weekend. I picked up the phone and tried to change the date since the credit card had not even probably had time to go through, ( 2 min. had gone by) and was told that they are not transferable, I couldn't change them. Now what?
Do you think that Friday before Columbus Day will be miserable?
We could have gone the Sunday before, but I rationalized that the kids (5&7) would be suprised to do it at the end of the trip as we are leaving on Saturday the 11th. I didn't think about Columbus Day weekend.

Any advise?

We went last year on the Friday before Columbus Day and the only time I felt the crowd was during the first parade. It seemed like people were 10 deep. We were easily able to do all the rides we wanted before my kids got tired around 10pm. Lines for trick or treating and pictures weren't bad at all.

I would think the Sunday before would be less crowded, but I won't worry too much about the day you have.

Don't they cap attendance for this anyway? Like if there are only 20,000 tickets (I have no idea how many are available) for each night then you are not going to have too many crowds?

Also, won't it be better to have the Magic Kingdom for those additional hours if it was crowded during the day?

It will work out great & you'll have so much fun!

If they do place a cap on how many tickets they sell it won't be real low since everything in the park is open.

Still when we were at the party last October it wasn't bad at all. Alot of people but very short lines all around. Longest wait was for dinner at Liberty Town Tavern, and that was only about 15 minutes.;)

They do indeed cap the number for attendance (even though CM's won't tell you how many people is the max) as a matter of fact when they used to have MNSSHP during only a few days (I think in 2000 was last time we went) it was sold out everyday and signs were posted so that people knew about it, I am assuming this is now why they offer so many nights for MNSSHP. MNSSHP is awesome, you will have a great time ! I haven't been on the boards lately so this may have changed but before MNSSHP we had an awesome dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern which was neat because we beat the line getting into the MK

We went last year on a Thursday and you couldn't stir the people with a stick. They had more people that night than during the day in the park. We didn't enjoy it that much. We took our dd that was in a wheelchair and people stumbled and tripped over us because it was so dark. There were lots of people that were enjoying the party but we didn't.:(
