Hi all,

I'm heading to WDW from November 1-10 in an epic foodie trip of Food & Wine Festival + a lengthy bucket list of Disney meals & snacks. I'm vacationing with a good friend, but we're coming from different places - I'm flying from NYC and she's driving from Atlanta. We were both planning to arrive at night on November 1st (to leave after work and avoid having to take a vacation day), but I'm looking at flights and the morning/afternoon flights are significantly less expensive. It's a better option.

So... it turns out that our arrival day is the last night of MNSSHP. I've never been, and I feel like I might want to jump on the opportunity. (We're doing MVMCP later in the week... it's a real perfect storm of a trip!) I've been to WDW many times, but never solo. My friend won't get in until 9-10ish. Do you think I should go to the Halloween party by myself? Is it strange for a 33-year-old woman to creep around and ride rides while kids are trick-or-treating?

Alternately, is anyone going on November 1st and want some company? :)

Thanks for any advice!

I dont think its creepy. You will love the parade and you can trick or treat too.

I bet nobody will even notice you are on your own.

I've done WDW solo a bunch of times, even did the Halloween party solo and it was great!!! you have so much freedom and it's true, you will love the parade and trick or treating. the parade is reversed so instead of coming down Main St. the parade starts from Frontierland, goes around the partners statue and goes up towards the entrance of the park. there are a lot of solo travelers than you know so don't feel weird about it at all...just have fun and enjoy the magic!

Haha, thanks! I realize that "creepy" is the wrong word as many people obviously do WDW solo all the time. The more I think about it, the more I'm excited about this idea. I can ride whatever I want!

I think I'm mostly just excited about getting a barbecue slaw dog from Casey's without judgement. :cool1:

I say go and have a great time. I have done MNSSHP solo in costume and collected candy. I gave most of the candy away back at the resort but kept my favorites for my plane ride home.

I'm thinking about going to the party on September 10. It's the first night of MNSSHP, and the last night of my solo trip. I've never done this party either.

Asked this same question on another thread because he mentioned going solo to the MNSSHP. Between his responses and everyone here I am now going to buy a ticket.

I'm going solo to the party on the 10th, too! Didn't realize the first one of the season was during my upcoming trip. I have to move some reservations around (I was supposed to do the Fantasmic Dinner package that night), because I don't want to miss this. I need to go pick up a costume before the trip!

MNSSHP is my favorite of the holiday events - I say absolutely go! The parade and special fireworks are great and the character dance parties make for some good photo ops. The trick or treating is a lot of fun too (where else can you trick or teat as an adult and not get weird looks?!) although I usually end up redistributing the candy I collect.

I went one year with my brothers and Cinderella's stepsisters were wandering through Fantasyland asking all the men if they were "eligible". Then Lady Tremaine would sweep over and ask if they were worthy or a good catch.

I'm going solo on the 10th (sneaking away from a work conference at the Omni to go) and can't wait!

Ticket purchased and printed for the party on September 10. Have not done it in years and looking forward to it.

Me either, James. My last time at that party was 2002, so I am way overdue! Is anyone else here on the list going on September 10th as well?

I will be there on the 10th too..not solo (darn it!l) but with my family. I have never been! Not sure if I will be in costume but my brother and his fiancée will...just look for Russell and Snow!
