Do most people dress up? Would we feel out of place if we didn't dress up? Trying to talk my 7 year old DD into dressing up.
Do you do a park during the day before MNSSHP or do you just hang around the hotel and take it easy?
Thanks

I think you will get varied answers. A lot of kids dress up, and maybe 30% of the adults do. If we are going to dress up, then I think we will head to MNSSHP right from our resort around 5ish, for dinner. I wouldn't want to wear a costume all day long.
My dd, who will be 13 when we go to the party, is dressing up as Tink, her friend is going as Ariel. Now, the moms haven't decided yet. I have a terrific Malificient costume but think it's a bit much for the parks and the possible heat. So, maybe a festive Halloween teeshirt, with black shorts and my Malificient headpiece. Or maybe....Tinkerbelle, dressed up as Goofy!!!

This will be our first MNSSHP and DH REFUSES to dress up :rotfl: I have no idea if I will, but our 2 girls (they'll be 4 and 6) will obviously do so.

In the past, we've done MVMCP and usually we spend the day lounging around the pool and not doing much, but then was when we were there for a whole week.... this time we're only there 5 nights and not even 5 full days, so we will be doing a park in the morning just to spend as much time in the parks as we can since our trip is limited this time....

HAVE FUN!

At MVMCP we went to the Princess Tea that morning - it was too much IMO. We stayed until midnight though.

For MNSSHP we just stayed at the resort that day, and it much better for us, so that's what we're planning for this time.

We dressed up at MNSSHP. I had read the reports about how hot it would be, but we figured we could handle it. We stuck it out until after the second parade - then we changed out of the costumes. This year we'll just wear Halloween t-shirts.

goofy4tink - I was Maleficent last year - and I received a lot of compliments. I made it myself out of a sheet and a headpiece from a cat costume. It wasn't a problem getting around or doing the rides, but it was HOT. My headpiece may be heavier than yours, but it was the first thing I took off, probably a couple of hours before I took off the rest of the costume. DD was Aurora, and DH was Prince Philip, but most people didn't know who he was.

kldmom2000 - DH refused to dress up too, but DD somehow convinced him to be her prince.

We went to MNSSHP last year and had a blast. DH and I didn't dress up but the kids did. I'd have to say that about 30% of adults were dressed up. We went to the MK during the morning hours then headed back to the hotel for an afternoon rest. We headed back to MK around 4 for dinner and then the party. pirate:

Have a great time!

We have attended MNSSHP for the past 5 years. We are there the last 10 days of October. Most ( I would even say...almost all) of the children are in costume and a good handful of adults are in costume. Many groups will be theme dressed, everyone in the group dresses according to the theme. There is a rule to not wear masks covering your face. I have seen this reinforced by CM's but have also seen people getting away with it as well. A good number of children and adults will take costumes off after their complimentary picture is taken.

As far as weather....we have always been warm at the party and boys have taken off costumes for that reason. HOWEVER, this past year we were there when Hurricane Wilma came through and we were very cold for MNSSHP, so you never can tell how hot or cold you will be.

Have fun!! :hmghost:
