Which day would be better to go Oct 4(Tues) or Oct 7(Fri before Columbus Day). We've never done this before & were wondering if the crowds are significantly different or since it's early in the month that it doesn't matter. Thanks!

I would assume that Tuesday would be less crowded, since most of the locals probably attend on weekends.

Friday = Weekend. Weekend = more crowded. I would opt for Tuesday if I had a choice.

I hoping to attend the October 2 and October 4 parties. I figure we would focus on the shows the first time and rides the second.

I vote for Tues. night also. Friday nights tend to be busier, and don't forget that Oct. 7th is the start of a long 4 day weekend for alot of schools. I bet this will make that night even busier.

Tuesday. We wnet on Friday one year and it was less crowded at the park during the day than it was that night, blech!

We went on the Friday before Columbus Day last year and it was crowded. When we go again I'm going to plan it for a weekday activity.

We were there on the Friday before Columbus Day last year and it was one of the handful of nights that sold out. That being said, we enjoyed ourselves and decided to do it again - only a week later! The ride lines weren't long (20 minute max) but the extra activities were pretty crowded and the parade and fireworks were mobbed no matter where you went! Overall, it was a great time, but I'd pick the 4th if I were you!

Thanks..the 4th it is!

YES! In the name of everything magical, TUESDAY!

I went a bit later in the month last year, and I went on a Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday.

Friday was fun. Sunday was awesome. Tuesday ROCKED - all night, walked on all the rides. On the 7th, that early in the month most locals don't have their mind on Halloween yet, and the resort is at one of the slower times of the year. Check out my trip report in my .sig to see how many rides I was able to do and how empty the place was.

There are four of us going down that same week, and although the 7th is a special day (my niece's birthday), it's also Columbus weekend where the attendance swells a bit. We've chosen the 4th for MNSSHP as well because of all these factors.

If you plan on being in the park that day before the party, you may want to consider making a PS in the park. I'm hoping for Crystal Palace, but it seems most people enjoy Liberty Tree Tavern because it is more "halloween". In my experience, even though the rides technically close at 6 and only Tomorrowland is open until 7, that Fantasyland and the other lands open much earlier. This was especially evident on slower nights, where by 6:30 I was on Peter Pan walk-on - the only time my whole visit I saw it so slow.

You made the right choice!
