Hello I have a question we will be attending the MNSSHP party on Oct 2 what
happens if by chance there happens to be a large storm that night?
Do they still have the parade and fireworks? My DH and I are paying for all the tickets that night 3adults and 3 children. Would hate for it to be a complete bust it is our first time going. Also any advice of what to expect and what not to miss. Thanks in advace for your help

It rained for our MNSSHP on Oct 2 and they still had the parade and fireworks but I believe it stopped raining for the fireworks.

It would have to be a really bad storm for them to cancel the parades.

In rare circumstances (a total washout with parades/shows canceled; I only know of this happening once at MVMCP in 2002), and if you are willing to wait in the MK Guest Services line on your way out of the party that night, you may be able to get tickets for another party on another night or a refund.

We were there Oct. 23, 2005 and it POURED. The girls didn't get in much trick o treating and if I remember correctly the parade was cancelled but they did have the fireworks during a break in the bad weather. I'm hoping we can escape any rain this year. :goodvibes I was happy to be there but it was no fun being wet and wearing a pancho all night.

I tried to go to the MHSSHP the Sunday night right before Wilma hit the next day. First of all, the bus from POR literally took over an HOUR to get there (slow buses is one reason I won't stay there anymore). It was standing room only, and then we had to hit every bus stop, and loading all the scooters (not being judgemental, just a fact) took a lot of time. Meanwhile the sky got darker and darker....!

By the time we arrived at MK (7:30), the torrential rain had started. There was zigzaging lightning and thunder, and was overall looked absolutely misrable. I didn'd feel very safe in that weather, and I had my digital camera and camcorder with me, and I was fearing everything I owned getting drenched and broken (which happened to a prior digital camera I had at Disney). So I never even left the bus depot! I got on the next bus and went right back to POR. Never even entered the park. :(

But the party went on, I heard - but I doubted the characters would be out hardly at all (meeting characters is what I do!), so I don't regret skipping the whole thing. I had tickets to two other parties, anyways. But what a misrable night for those who went! I think maybe one parade did run (not sure!), but being soaked by an approaching hurricane wasn't my idea of a fun Halloween!

We were also there the night of the 23rd, when Wilma blew into town. We brought ponchos with us, wore then and still looked like drowned rats:) But, trick or treating went on, albeit undercover. We saw the second parade and the fireworks and while a few elements of both were ommitted they were still good. I believe the first parade was cancelled. Many people left early, so the park was very quiet, but we still had a good time.We stayed until the end as a matter of fact. Went to the party again a few nights later because we had such a blast! My guess is the party will be canceled only if the parks themselves are closed.
