Give it to me straight--how insane are we for going to the party on Halloween?

Due to school schedules the only night we can do the Halloween party is on Halloween. Is it still worth it? Or is the park packed and you feel like a sardine? We wouldn't need to see the characters, we go for the rides, for the candy, and for the parade.

How soon would we need to buy tickets? I'm thinking Halloween night will sell out, but how far in advance is that typically?

We went last Halloween and it was insane, but we still had fun. We got lots of candy by going through each line multiple times, but the hub area was super crowded for the parade and the fireworks. I would go again if that was the only day I could because it was still fun. Oh, and we didn't really do any rides at the party but I don't think the lines were as short as I've heard they could be during parties.

It's very busy, but still fun! As mentioned above, avoid the hub. We had always just winged the parties, but for one that's sold out, I'd suggest having a plan or at least prioritize.

Halloween is one of my least favorite holidays (as it overshadows my birthday which is the day before). That said there's no other place I would want to spend Halloween at than at a Disney park and I'm not a party person.

In regards to tickets: BUY THEM IMMEDIATELY as soon as they come out. I think this is the night that sells out the quickest which would explain why it's always so busy.

We've done that and enjoyed it very much. If you realize that you can't do it all and have a good plan that works for your family, it's a great experience. I see too many families trying to do everything available and having a miserable time.

We didn't do Halloween night last year, but we were at a party a few days prior( I thought it was sold out) We, too, don't do characters- rides, candy, and watched parade. It was busy but fine and FUN!!

I'd love to do Halloween night!!

DH and I have MNSSHP tickets for Halloween night! I have only gone twice before in 2004 but never on Halloween. It’s my favorite holiday, so I’m super excited to be celebrating it at the Magic Kingdom.
