MNSSHP for adults?

This will likely be the one post I make that doesn't quite sound like WDW spirit, but bear with me for a moment!

DF and I have long planned to visit Universal Studios and IOA at least once on our trip, and we've pretty much decided to reserve October 3rd for that day. Ahh, but now the schedule for MNSSHP comes out, and it seems the 3rd would be the ONLY day we could go to the party before our trip is over.

So here's my question ... Is it really worth it to leave Universal early and come back to the MK to go to the party? With tickets to MNSSHP costing nearly as much as a single-day admission, I'm wondering what we'll really get for our money (especially being two folks in their mid-20s who don't really care for Halloween).

I know everyone says it's a lot of fun, but Halloween's probably my least favourite holiday, and since I plan on visiting the MK for at least one full day before that night, will I truly be missing out? The only allure for me at this point is the chance to visit some attractions after-hours, like with E-Ride Night (which probably won't be available during my stay in late Sept/early Oct.)

Will there be enough attractions (especially the "thrilling" ones!) open during MNSSHP to make it worth the $60+ it will cost for DF and I to get in? And does this party extend to Epcot and MGM, or is it confined to the MK only?

Thanks in advance for the words of wisdom! ;-)

We went the Sunday before Halloween last year. From about 9:30 - midnight, the park was empty. You could walk onto any ride. That may or may not be worth it for you.

MNSSHP is at MK only.

The MNSSHP is great for kids and Disney fanatics. Not sure if you would want to leave IOL. Depends on how much of a Disney freak you are.

IF it were up me, (and I am a DISNEY FREAK) I would go the party

I am planning on going to MNSSHP. But if I were you, not caring that much for Halloween, and planning on going to MK the day before, I wouldn't go. Like you pointed out, the price is almost as much as a full day admission. And if I were at US/IOA for the day, I wouldn't want to leave early.

Thanks for the tip, perdidobay! I was thinking the same thing. If we've only got one day to cram the whole US/IOA experience into, I'd rather just save MNSSHP for next time around.

Now I'm off to the US/IOA board to figure out if doing both parks in one day is even POSSIBLE! Yikes! ;-)

We went last year and had a great time. You could pretty much walk onto any ride you wanted and the parade was fantastic. We walked through the park and trick or treated and loved it.

Or at least they did the last time I was there(96). It had a scary name ( sorry can't remember) It was an evening event that had seperate admission. It was scary, with gouls jumping at you etc. We enjoyed going on rides with smaller crowds.

I'd bet they still have this. We didn't even know about it until we were down there and called up and ordered tickets and were able to pick them up at the "will call" window. This might be better for you if its available on a non WDW night.
