So, my 5 year old grandson wants to be Spiderman for the party. I saw the "rules" regarding face masks for his age group and still not sure if the mask would be permitted since it doesn't have the open eyes (photo for reference). In any event, I think he would get hot anyway. Is there anywhere during the party that they do face paint and if they do will they have Spiderman available to have painted. If not at the party is there somewhere else that we could have his face painted.

Spiderman isn't on Disney property in Orlando as Universal has the theme park rights in Florida so you won't find anyone on Disney property who will do any Spiderman designs.

That is what I was afraid of... I wonder if Universal does Spiderman face painting?? :D

If you are on Facebook, take a look at the Ear For Each Other group - it's all former CMs who lost their jobs during the pandemic (and some current ones with side gigs) who started their own businesses. There are a TON of stylists, cosmetologists, etc. that will come to your resort room to do hairstyling, face paint, make up, etc. You will probably be able to find someone who could come to your room and help turn your GS into Spiderman. You may also want to look online for facepaint sets and try doing it yourself?

If you are worried about the heat, even consider a plastic mask with an elastic band around the back - if he gets hot he can at least take that off and probably wouldn't be as hot as something that goes on his entire face and head.

I do face painting (on cruise ships sometimes) and I can tell you that if you get a small paintbrush, a makeup sponge from the dollar store, and some red and of black Snazaroo face paint you can do it yourself in about 5 minutes. A kit like this and a sponge is all you will need, and you can even put the lid back on and bring it to the park for a touch up later, but I bet he doesn't care too much by then. https://www.michaels.com/product/snazaroo-rainbow-face-paint-kit-10115421?michaelsStore=1178&inv=1

To do his face, dip the sponge in some water and rub rub rub on the red disk. (Don't get the sticks. You want the disks of face paint) Then wipe the red color over his entire face except for his eye area: forehead, around his nose, his cheeks, and even across his mouth. (You can wipe that off with a wet paper towel.) Maybe do 2 coats - each should dry in moments - but don't forget to moisten the sponge again before rubbing the paint disk. Once that's dry, take the paint brush and some water and swish swish swish the brush across the black paint. Outline around his eyes with black, and just do a web design by making some black slashes, and curves connecting them for a 'web'. You really can't go wrong.

You could also choose to just do the Spiderman paint around his eyes as a mask, especially if he's a kid who doesn't like things on his face. But the Snazaroo on a sponge is so light most kids don't mind it. Here's an example of the latter:

Oh my gosh, THANK YOU!! I am sure that my daughter could do this for him!! I really appreciate you!

I like the face-paint idea, just watch out if you ride Tiana's (should be open!). I did face paint once for a party and between the sweat and what was then Splash Mountain, I had to touch it up a lot. My cosutme was so hot though that by the end of hte night I was just riding Splash and not caring how much the makeup ran! 🤣
