I just want to plan everything at the moment! I have started to plan our costumes for MNSSHP and I'm looking for ideas. So far:

DH - (purchased) Jack Sparrow costume with the option of being Davy Jones as we have the latex mask.

Me - I have a Victorian ghost costume but I'm thinking of changing this and getting a Sally costume.:confused3

DD (12) (purchased) Corpse Bride costume complete with blue wool wig.

DD (8) No idea! Thinking of Queen of Hearts???

DD (5) Wants to dress as a pumpkin.:confused3

It was too difficult to think of a theme that everyone would be happy with, so I thought we could just go with Disney 'Halloween' characters. I need some inspiration - any ideas?

Ive been thinking about this too!!

I'm trying to convince DBF that he should take his kilt and be a Scotsman in Disney the night we go to the party, I'm not certain about my costume, I do loads of am dram so hoping I can pinch a costume from the costume stores at the theatre

My thoughts were tinkerbell or Ariel because I love both but I dont fancy wearing a shell bra around the park :scared1:

Why not look to nursery rymes or Grimm fairy tales for a different take on family costumes? Or try to convince your kids to go neon!

A shell bra sounds dangerous, especially on fast rides...

Your Dbf should definitely wear his kilt - he could go all 'Braveheart'! I like the idea of Grimm's fairy tales. I'll keep trawling Ebay.;)

I suspect the shell bra could end up a potential massvie wardrobe malfunction.

I love this costume

And this one

Id team them with solid black tights, not the flishnets they suggest!!!

The kilt is really heavy so it would mean forgoing some shopping to avoid the excess luggage cost, but it would be amazing.

I wish I was younger, slimmer and taller...then I would wear one of those outfits.;) At the moment I am more Ursula, less Ariel iykwim:rotfl:

I wish I was slimmer and taller too!!!! Control Underwear and control tights will work wonders :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 I will be standing behind my family when the photos are taken lol.

I definatly think its good fun to dress up as Disney character when your at MNSSHP. We went as Tinkerbell and Peter Pan when we were there a couple of years ago and it was such a fun night.

I'd love to dress up as Ariel but I think even if I was at the gym for a year and had a flat stomach I wouldn't feel comfortable just wearing the purple shell bra!! I've seen some other ideas with wearing a nice purple sparkly strapless top with the fishtail though :goodvibes

Love the ideas so far! Though with Davy Jones, I'm sure I read somewhere that you couldn't wear masks. :confused3

I really like the idea of a pumpkin costume, thats so cute. :cutie:

Perhaps something like this? http://www.escapade.co.uk/Childrens...ween-Costumes/Pumpkin-Costume-Child-25151.asp

I did Snow White last year, my Sis did Corpse Bride, DH did Tony Stark and SIL went as Red Riding Hood.

I suspect the shell bra could end up a potential massvie wardrobe malfunction.

The 2nd costume is brilliant, I love it.

This year I will probably go as Ariel. Just gotta work on the sea-shell thing. I was thinking perhaps a nude coloured fabric attaching the tail and shells?

DH is going as Linguini from Ratatouille.

I cannot wait to do MNSSHP again

I had also read about not being able to wear masks. I thought he could be Jack Sparrow and take the mask for photo opportunities.:confused3 Love the pumpkin outfit! I can't ask the kids what they want to dress up as because they don't know they are going.

Ive been thinking about this too!!

.... and me!! We've not been at this time of year before so I was wondering what sort of temperature it will be early evening? We don't want to be uncomfortable inside our costumes.

I have read that it is cooler in the evenings when we go, so I am thinking light cardigan weather.:confused3 I have been looking at other people's costumes for MNSSHP and some of them are amazing!

We were there in Oct 2010, 7th-21st and every evening we were still in our vest tops and shorts until we left the parks. the night we went to MNSSHP we left at midnight and it was still really quite warm.

Try not to get any costume that will be too warm as remember it will still be hot when the party starts

We're doing the party for the first time this year and dressing up - can't wait!

I'm going as an undead gothic debutante and DH is probably going as either Jack Skelly or a grave digger

I got a gorgeous gothic ballgown off our favourite auction site for about £20, a long silver wig for £10, a black veil with spiders on for £3 and a pair of black shoes for £3 too. Not bad :goodvibes

I had a go at doing undead makeup last weekend and DH ran for the door :rotfl:

We went as jack sparrow and captain hook last november and if we get the dates right will go again in the same costumes. It is great dressing up in the park.

I know you can't wear a mask if that helps you decide what to go as.:thumbsup2

We did MNSSHP on the 2nd of Oct last year and it was lovely and warm. We also left at midnight that night and I didn't need a jumper/cardigan. I'm usually cold all the time so it must have been warm for me not to need coverng up! :goodvibes

Great ideas. I'm trying to persuade DBF to dress up when we go this year but he's not having any of it! :sad2:

The shell bra option actually would work if you wore a flesh coloured top underneath it. It would cover up any wobbly bits (we all have them!) but wouldn't detract from the overall effect.

That is a GENIUS idea :woohoo: I have a flesh coloured leotard that has long sleeves which could be used as the "base" and I could stich the bra onto.

Why didnt I think of that sooner!!!

Yay, glad I helped :yay: it can also get quite cool at night from october time so it would keep you toasty too!!
