So I know there's a thread like this elsewhere on the boards but I figured us Brits could have our own one!

I know the Americans really go all out for this - I saw some amazing costumes last time I was there, but us Brits are typically a little more reserved. For example my Mum will only where a Halloween t-shirt for the event.
I am planning on reviving my Minnie Mouse dress (just a red dress with white spots), donning some yellow shoes and sticking on my Minnie Ears!
This will be OH's first trip to WDW though, let alone MNSSHP, so I'd be especially be interested in the guys costume ideas!

Let the creative juices flow! :hmghost:pirate::maleficen

I'm liking the sound of the Minnie Mouse dress! :goodvibes.

DBF refuses to dress up for MNSSHP. I'm still hoping to change his mind though...there's plenty time yet! :rotfl:

For my cousins 18th I dressed up as Cruella and OH dressed up as a dalmation (love primark onesies!), complete with facepaint! I think he'd melt in the onesie but at least I know he's not scared to try something a bit out of the ordinary!
(Did I mention that it was the first time he met the extended family! :rotfl2:)

I love dressing up, I have loads of costumes.

Last year me, DH, my sister and sister-in-law went to MNSSHP and we all had costumes.

My sister dressed up as the Corpse Bride, sister-in-law went as Red Riding Hood, I went as Snow White and DH went as Tony Stark (He wore a dark t-shirt and stuck an arc reactor on his chest, more people recognised him as Stark then they recognised the Corpse Bride!)

This year I shall be going as Ariel and DH is going as Linguini from Ratatouille (until he changes his mind that is)

I keep changing my mind! At the moment, I am going as Sally, DH is Jack Sparrow, DD (12) is the Corpse Bride, DD (8) is the Queen of Hearts and I'm still deciding on what to get DD (5). I wanted a Tim Burton theme but DH didn't really want Edward Scissorhands.;)

Any ideas for DD (5).:confused3
I bought a red sparkly dress ('devil' theme) but have now shelved that.
Then I thought about a pumpkin dress.
Now I don't know what to get.

:lmao:

I'm hoping I can tempt him by September. It's not like we would be the only one's dressed up!

If anything, we'll stand out for not wearing costumes  Maybe I can win him over with this argument ;)

Ooo I might pinch that idea, not too in your face for OH to handle but still dressing up! :thumbsup2

How about Alice? Espcially with your other DD going at the Queen of Hearts? Could make for some really good photo ops!
Or if she's dark haired you could try Boo from Monsters Inc? Pink nighty, maybe carrying a teddy of Mike or Sully?

we have been three times with relatives, these have been our costumes...
witch, pumpkin, supergirl and superman, hippies, spiderman, batman, robin, grease girl, skeleton, pirate, medieval princess

we wont be there for Halloween for another two years :( but when you say about Americans going all out on our last trip in 2010 we saw a lady on the monorail dressed as Belle it was a Belle dress from the park she had found online and her partner was dressed as the beast in human form they looked amazing!

I go as a monk!
The habit is really comfy and it's so easy....Goes with the holiday sandals too.. :thumbsup2
I got the outfit off eBay a few years back and it'll be coming back again this year.
DW was a witch last time and DD was a monster.

we went last trip as
Me Tinkerbell Dh Peter pan (with tights) 3 boys lost boys Dm Smee

My mums a costume maker and I like to think as myself as the desighner:rotfl: we made all of the costumes from scratch
I decided on Tink as she is my fav character fiesty"like me"plus im only 5ft and curvy size 8 so she was perfect size for me to go as.
My dress was green crush velvet sown onto a corset so that it fit perfect we then cut it to tinkerbell style and added little diamond studs all over the bottom we then covered ballet pumps in the green velvet to match the dress!
Im blonde and i bought a real hair frindge.
Hook came up to me in the park and took me away from Dh since he was dressed as Pan kissed my hand and danced with me in front of everybody he refused a picture with Dh but posed for loads with me:rotfl:

Dh costume was done to look exactly like the Disney park characters in soft felt, we sprayed his hair orange and I bought leggings in extra large from primark i couldnt believe it they was thick tights style inthe exact dark green i wanted! " I also cant belive Dh went along with it "My mum then made boot covers and little hotpant style shorts to go over the leggings.plus sword belt hold.Dh is 6ft 1 and athletic build he looked AMAZING if i do say so myself haha.
He had little girls coming up to him all night long!

My boys went as the Lost boys from the Peter pan film
They each wore shorts made to look jaggered and cut up, t-shirts covered in war paint colours a waist coat all jaggered and my mum made amazing Davy crockett coonskin hat's for each of the boys but the tops was made of breathable mesh so they didnt get too hot!! They also had boot covers made for them they did look adorable and loved it when all the Cms and people said here comes the Lost boys.

I love dressing up and if we make it to a party this year(now we have had to change our trip dates) then i think im going as
Cinderella Ive desighned my dress just have to make it.
OR
Tinkerbell in a woodland style balldress I desighned one a year ago and have been dying to make it,I just dont know any body would get that Its Tinkerbell as she has never had a balldress made for her:confused:

The last one is Ariel for the last yr ive had Postbox red hair its down way past my shoulders and I thought of doing the outfit with maybe a seaweed style long skirt instead of a tail or her blue dress?

Dh is thinking Jack Sparrow he already has the outfit we made for new year once " again made by my mum" although the outfit can get a little hot with the long wig bandanners waist coat long shirt trousers and huge boot covers.

Boys dont know about the trip so I have to find out what they want to go Trick or treating in over here 1st and see if its ok for Disney.

i made some amazing mermaid bars for a dance troup in new york :)

i love dressing up i want to go to a halloween party !!

Last time we did the Halloween party (several years ago) DD went as Lilo I made the costume myself - Red tshirt dress and I cut the white leaf pattern out and used the bondaweb to iron them on.

The costume was nice and cool and when she wore it she got loads of attention as it was unique - especially when she wore it to the aloha breakfast too!

I love the lilo dress
I am desperate for DD to have one for our next trip but I can not find a red t shirt dress anywhere!

DH is going as Captain America this year, he has the shield and a great rubber mask that we bought in Orlando lasy year. Think he may die in the heat though.

I'm undecided thus far. I'm tempted to get the Mrs America outfit to match, or maybe dig out Wonderwoman from our Halloween wedding party.

I dont think you are allowed to wear masks?

I've just checked and masks are fine. They just don't advise people where full masks because of the heat. I'm sure DH will be taking his off until the temperature cools.:thumbsup2
