Do people wear costumes when they enter at 4pm or not until the party officially starts at 7pm? Wondering if we should bring them in our backpacks and change in a bathroom... will we be out-of-place if we are all dressed up at 4pm??

Most of party goers who are going to be in costume are wearing them at 4:00.

We wore ours in at 4:00 last year. The CMs at the front commented nicely about them and I overheard a few guests say they liked them, but that's it. No problem at all! Just go ahead and enter at 4:00 dressed up!

I'm not worried about "problems" getting in or with CM's.. just feeling out of place. I've convinced DH and BIL (two "tough guys") that it'll be fun to dress up and that many adults do. I don't want to hear their complaining or any of us feeling out of place if we're a rare sight from 4 to 7...

We always show up at 4 in full on costumes and have for years. It just seems to me that there aren't usually a ton of people showing up at 4 for the party, so you might not see a lot of costumes for a good hour or so, but to me that is part of the fun being gawked at! :rotfl:

Trust me, once they are there in costume, they will have such a blast they won't even think about it! :thumbsup2

Nope.

(Although, I suppose if you were dressed up as Harry Potter and Daffy Duck, you might
be considered to be in the "wrong place." ) ;)

I walked in dressed up at 2:15 last year - no problem!

Yes, but everyone KNOWS you in the gold lame' capris with the feathered tutu, checkered silk midi-blouse,
the 10 inch spikes (hair) the 9 inch spikes (heels) and the 3 inch spikes (nails) from your everyday wardrobe.

;)

You definitely won't feel out of place. There will be guests slowly trickling in that will also be dressed up, and there will also be guests that don't know what's going on and will be all "what?" about people dressed up.

Last year I got there right at four with my Mom and was wearing a pretty legit looking Alice costume I'd gotten off Etsy and it was a little awkward as there weren't many other people for the party in the park at that time, and there were some kids who thought I was the real Alice, so it was a little awkward.

However if you're whole family's in costumes/halloween style outfits, I'd say it's no problem!!

:thumbsup2
