MNSSHP Characters?

This will be my first year attending MNSSHP and I had planned character M&Gs, but it looks like some characters in the past aren't appearing this year.

I know the 7 dwarves are near Splash Mtn, and we'll be lining up for them around 6. We also want to meet Jack Sparrow, Capt Hook, and the Aladdin characters (mostly Genie and Abu since they're not regular). Could someone who's attended the 2012 party confirm below?

I thought Capt Hook did M&Gs with Smee, but now it looks like Capt Hook only does photos after the villain mix and mingle? Is there only one of these shows, or multiple throughout the night? And where should we stand so we get to meet Capt Hook? How bad is his line? I've heard Maleficent is most popular so she gets a pretty long line before the show is even finished.

How bad is Jack Sparrow's line? Should we go there early or does it drop off a little after the second parade?

How often do the Aladdin characters rotate? Is it Aladdin with Abu and Jasmine with Genie?

1. I went Friday, but didn't focus on characters this trip. Regardless, I'll give these a shot.

2. Hook is by himself after each VM&M. No Smee.

3. Four, between 7:45 and 11:15 as I recall. Maps posted online will have exact times.

4. Imagining a line of 6 characters across the entire front of the Castle Forecourt Stage, Hook is fourth from the left (as you look at the stage). Figure you need to be middle-right as you look at the stage. Ask CMs in the area to confirm.

5. Maleficent is the worst, but if you know in advance where any of them are you shouldn't have trouble getting them in. They only meet for 10-12 minutes or so after each show (with no autographs, pictures only), so it is crucial to be on your game for any must-do characters.

6. I lined up for her about 10-15 minutes before the show last year and was third in line. Just be in the right spot for Hook and you'll be fine.

7. Not done his at MNSSHP. Reports are his lines are moderate-to-long most of the night, as he takes a fair amount of time with each group.

8. Don't know. Definitely don't sacrifice your plans for the Dwarves in favor of him though--the Dwarves will almost certainly be worse and your approach to them is perfect.

9. Every thirty minutes. Those pairings sound right, and is what I recall last year. That could change at any time however.

Thanks for the info, but the VM&M characters don't even do photos? I was aware there were no autographs, but I'm dressing as Smee and would love a couple photos with Hook.

I believe the Villians do pics but no autographs to keep the line moving. Our group is going as Hook (me), Peter Pan, and Smee so Hook is on our must-do list too! Good luck!

I would meet Jack later in the night if you see a line. His line was short after the second parade
