MNSSHP and regular park days

I was wondering how MNSSHP affects the regular park days. Do the regular days get too busy to bother with the Magic Kingdom when there are party days going on, or would it be just a mild bump? I am debating on which park to do my party day and which one to visit on the remaining day of my itinerary, and, seeing as I have never visited Disney during the parties, thought it may be helpful to ask.

Party days tend to be less busy since many people who are not attending the party and who do not have park hopper tickets do not want to use a day of admission on a day with such an early park closing.

I only have the four days, so I am trying to work out traffic flow in the parks to choose which park to do the rest of my party day. It's either MK or AK at this point.

There's a pretty noticeable difference between party and non-party days. If you can do a party day, I would. Those mornings are the best! It will busy up with crossover traffic after 4, but it's always been worth it for us earlier in the day.

If you're actually doing the party as well, I suggest doing a 4:30 ADR. It gets you off your feet for an in-park break, and gets you out of the traffic of other incoming party guests. For us it was always an automatic decision to do MK with the rest of the party day. We felt like we owned the park on those days!

I have a BOG ADR for that day, but had to take one during the party, for now. Once I get my itinerary worked out, I will work out dining. The only downside I could see to doing MK all day on a party day would be missing out on Happily Ever After, though that may be a good excuse for another trip down the line. Basically, I will be at Disney from 9/22-9/27, but the only usable days are 9/23 through 9/26. Flights get in late evening and leave out early in the morning on my first and last days. Still, the first day could be used for a little time in Disney Springs or at the Boardwalk.

That's a tough call. So you just have one day in the MK and don't have park hoppers? If you can stand missing HEA and don't have hoppers (we never do) then maybe you could at least watch from outside the park on another day.

Well, you COULD see HEA from outside the park on your first evening. Go have a drink or dinner at one of the MK resorts. There are quite a few places you can see the show and music is piped in.

With only four days and the new stuff at AK in the evening, I wouldn't want to miss an evening in AK. My vote is to do MK on your party day, so all four parks have their own full day.

I ended up saving about $40 by changing my days slightly.

I just noticed that my arrival date also has a Halloween Party, but I wouldn't get to the park until right at 7pm, if I could even get the party ticket changed over. My particular dates are late September so it is just a question of if they would. Might be more difficult to get character meets though.

Personally, I wouldn't want to do a non-refundable ticket event on my arrival day. Too many things can happen with air travel these days. You wouldn't want to be 20,000 feet in the air when party time came. And you're right. If character meets are your goal, entering anytime after about 5 pm means you'll be spending the entire party in lines waiting.

I try to look at all the angles. My main character meet is Jack and Sally. Could care less about the Dwarves. I also checked for reservations the other nights and everything was later than what I already had. I am well aware of what can happen to flights. I have had a couple that were delayed by over an hour before, one of which was after we already boarded.
