Sorry. I'm new here and posted this in another sub forum accidentally, but I think I'll get more responses here. Does anyone know how I can delete the post from the welcome to DIS forum? But here's my story!

Hi everyone! I'm a first time poster so please help me plan our very first trip to Disney with my husband, DD 6 and DS 4. We're on a budget as my husband would like us to wait a few more years, but I simply can not wait any longer! We are not amusement park type people really and with my ages of my children I know we will not be doing open to close days. We're more into the "experience" and not riding every ride available over and over again. I'm looking at doing the 2 day 3 night with free memory maker deal. A friend suggested this scenario and I would like your thoughts.

We would drive to Disney on Sunday Sept 14,2014. It is an 8 hour drive and we are not early people. We would likely not arrive until 10 pm or later and may consider staying offsite for that night only. If we arrived early enough, we may consider chip and dale's campfire that evening.

Monday we would go to MK

Tuesday we would hang around the resort and then go to MNSSHP. I'm told we can enter the park at 4pm (although officially 7pm and I will be ok if that's the case). Can someone please confirm that only a ticket to MNSSHP is necessary and that it will not cost a park ticket AND a MNSHHP? I am willing to pay for the MNSHHP but since we will only have a 2 day pass I want to make sure that it does not count as one of our park days.

Wednesday we would do either Epcot or AK. I'd really love to experience Epcot but people tell me that for my kids ages they'd probably prefer AK.

I know that I want to experience Cinderella's Royal Table. I'd love to do the Biippity Boppity Boutique but will probably have to save that for another time. I'd also like to do some type of pirate adventure and maybe the kids could do that Tuesday morning before MNSHHP. (When I say "I would like to experience" I really mean that I would like for my kids to experience.)

Thursday we may do SeaWorld and drive to Savannah to be with the in laws or we may just skip seaworld and drive back home. DD 6 has been asking to do sea world for nearly 2 years now so I'd love to be able to combine the trip.

Thoughts???

Absolutely. It will not count against one of your park days, it is an entirely separate ticket. And you will be able to enter at 4:00p.

:welcome:

It sounds like a good plan. There are a couple different pirate type experiences to choose from. Some may be more expensive than others. The one in MK is for boys & girls and I think includes a make over of some sort ( pirate or mermaid). Maybe some one else can clarify that.

Yes, the MNSSHP ticket will get you in at 4 PM, and all the non-ticketed folks have to leave by 7 (you'll be given a wristband for identification). As of last Halloween, you do not link your MNSSHP ticket to your MagicBand. Just use the ticket to enter and not the MagicBand to avoid any confusion. It will not use up a park day. The MNSSHP is really great too and worth doing.

I'm not certain that MNSSHP will be that day, but based on previous years I believe they will have one that night :). Here's hoping!!!

They do but getting an appointment after 4pm on a MNSSHP party day will be difficult, if not impossible.

They also have the pirate excursions that are on a boat and leave from certain resorts during the day. I know there is one at the MK resorts and one at the Epcot resorts but I have no personal experience with these. There's also the Pirates and Pals fireworks voyages but those are not done on party nights.

OP, another thing to keep in mind is that if you go to the party and stay late (we always stay until closing) you probably will have a short day the following day also. That's what we always do (we aren't early risers anyway) but you should plan on your Wednesday being a late start day.

Because you are looking for experience, I would definitely choose AK over Epcot for your Wednesday. However, AK normally closes earlier than the other parks so if you are trying to maximize your Wednesday combined with a late start to the day and no park hopper tickets, I would look at other options or plan something fun for that evening after AK is closed. Since there usually isn't a MNSSHP on Wednesday, this might be a night you could do that Pirates and Pal fireworks voyage.

I would definitely recommend pirates league...from what I hear it's cheaper than BBB and my 4 year old son loved it. I think it cost somewhere around $40 and they have a couple options for girls as well. I would also recommend AK over Epcot. The festival of the lion king and nemo shows are great and my son really liked the Dino dog area and the safari. Epcot was kinda boring for us and there aren't a lot of ride options. Have fun!

Tickets go on sale on or around May 1, dates are officially announced a week or two before that.

Unofficially, you'll be able to tell when the dates will be when they release the hours for September (which should be within the week) and October (mid to late March) because MK closes at 7:00 on party nights.

Yes, I have planned park days that way myself. Granted, it is a pretty good bet on those days, but wasn't it a few years ago that when the official dates were released, they were different than what was expected?
