Not sure how this was handled last fall during FP plus testing... can you book FP plus reservations for during the halloween parties?

I don't think FP is in use for parties, no.

They never offered regular FP during the MNSSHP and the MVMCP, so I would assume that you can't get FP+ either. Most people go to the parties for the party-specific things, so the ride lines are usually pretty short.

No fastpass for parties or EMH (although in the past I saw FP- open for EMH on a few occasions).

Yes there a no FPs becasue you will not need them. Ride lines are incredibly short during the party, generally speaking. It is one great perk of going to them. The lines for characters are long though.

And most of the character lines are ad-hoc, set up specifically for the party, so there is no infrastructure to support FP+.

We went to two MNSSHP during FP+ rollout last year. The system was not used during the party. However, you apparently can make FP+ selections for the hours from 4-7, which is the window in which they allow party guests to enter the MK, but before the party actually starts.

I would think to do this though you would need activated magic bands and book them onsite the day of the party? I don't think you could link a party ticket to a magic band?

You can't link anything to a magic band. The band only reads your MDX profile. So it's about what you can link to MDX.

That's going to be about whether you can link a party ticket to MDX and if MDX will read it as valid park admission. If the party tickets are RFID now then you might be able to use the ticket at the kiosks in the park, after you have used it for admission.

You can link your party tickets to your band. While advised not to do it, many people here did last year.

ETA: While not technically correct, I think most people use the term "linking tickets to a band" to mean linking them to MDE.

We were able to link MVMCP tix to MB's last November and book FP+ ahead of time for the day of the party up to 7pm

People here reported last year being able to make FP+ selections from 4-7 with just a party ticket. Sorry that wasn't clearer in my original response.

I stayed offsite at the Swan during the FP+ Swan testing. We were able to make FP+ selections with only our MVMCP ticket between the 4-7 time period. We just showed the hard ticket ( I paid for a real plastic ticket, not the print at home kind, not sure if that will make a difference) to the CM with the iPad and picked our rides. We didn't have magic bands or anything and didn't have any issues doing it. Not sure if you can link the party tickets to MDE and prebook, as we didn't try that.
