My daughter will be turning 10 during the trip, so she's not too little but can get pretty grumpy by 11ish! That is why we are thinking earlier parade. My husband is a first timer so he can't grasp the whole staying out past midnight deal. I have talked to him about it 50 times and he is like, "why do we need a plan for a party" and just tonight was like, "wait the rides are open? I thought it was just parades and characters" :sad2: (prolly bc that is what I have been talking about!)
I planned the swimming bc that seems to be one of her main goals and I don't think my peeps will want to just relax at the resort, but I know doing too much would equal grumpy people! A lot of the reason I added extra rides, was bc I just bought MNSSHP tickets so I already had tickets for that day and I thought I should use them/fast passes a little. Maybe it would be too much?

These are the kinds of questions only you can answer. You know your family. I'd say you guys should decide what kind of party you want; characters, rides, parades, etc. From there you can figure out what's too much. When we went in 2015 we felt like we missed a lot cause we focused on rides. Just my experience.

Now that we have some more party details I've updated my plan here. I had to update it for the new times for the parade and Hocus Pocus show too. I actually think this plan works better and has us getting a little more done.

My plan may change if we can not get wrist bands at Mickeys Philharmagic...... anyone know, I saw it posted yes somewhere but now I can not find it....

I feel like it was a yes on that too, but for the life of me I cannot remember where I saw that! It's probably on the first page of the regular Halloween thread by now maybe?

Thanks to this thread, I realized I made a rookie mistake and booked rides starting at 9am on Halloween (party day). We don't have kids with us, so 2 adults only. We have zero interest in being at MK for 20 hours o_O Kidding--even 12 is pushing it!

Moved all our rides to start at 2:50. Everything was available, even 7DMT. No problems rebooking.

@FoxC63 I know you were going to look at my plan - don't yet, lol! I just moved all my FP to the afternoon so we can sleep in and get to MK after noon on party day. I'm going to have to edit it...again.

Dwarfs come out around 6:20. Their line will begin forming around 5.

We have ADR at 455 at Crystal Palace- planned on headed right to meet Dwarfs after, but didn't realize they'd be meeting that early. Will that mean we get stuck in line longer? How long can someone expect to wait if they get in line around 6? Thanks!

Okay, I've got my party plan worked out, I think. Hopefully I have the format correct! :)

Our party date is Thursday, October 19. It will be me, DH and DD (9 years). We are dressing as Vidia, Bobble and Tink (respectively).

We will sleep in, have breakfast in our room and then we have a 12:30 reservation at Boathouse so we'll maybe shop a little in Disney Springs before heading back to our room to get ready.

2:30 Leave Boardwalk (is this the right amount of time?)
3:15 arrive MK
4:10-4:20 FP Meet Tinker Bell 4:10-5:10
4:25-4:45 Liberty Square Riverboat
4:50 - 5:05 Country Bear Jamboree
5:10 - 5:15 FP Magic Carpets of Aladdin 5:10-6:10
5:20 - 5:35 Enchanted Tiki Room
5:40 - 6:20 DINNER Pinocchio Village Haus
6:30 - 7:00 line up for Cruella
7:00 - 7:15 meet Cruella
7:20 - 7:40 Big Thunder Mountain RR
7:45 - 8:05 Haunted Mansion
8:10 - 8:40 Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
8:45 - 9:45 Cadaver Dan's, trick or treat, maybe a magic shot
9:45 - 10:15 find a spot for HalloWishes
10:15 - 10:30 HalloWishes
10:30 - 10:45 find a spot for Hocus Pocus

11:05 - 11:15 find a spot for Boo to You
11:15 - 11:30 Boo to You Parade

So, I went back and read the sample itinerary on the first page and I feel like I have a lot of work to do on my itinerary! I haven't really allowed for taking any magic shots and probably need to be more specific in my activities, such as noting when/where we will eat, where we plan to pick up our wristbands, etc. I have some homework!

Also, I kind of want to make a binder now, but I'm afraid my family will run screaming!

Thank you for following the outline. Your itinerary can be accessed on Post #1. Your plan looks clean but I'm afraid your timing is off so let's begin...

4:15-4:25 FP Princesses Rapunzel/Tiana 3:20-4:20
You've only allowed 10 minutes to meet the Princesses, you need at least 20/25
4:30-4:40 FP Peter Pan Flight 4:20-5:20
Rides should be about 15/20
4:45-4:55 FP 7DMT (no time limit)
Same here 15/20
5:00-5:15 ?
5:15-5:40 FP Enchanted Tales with Belle 5:20-6:00
5:40-7:15 Belle & Gaston Meet & Greet
7:20-8:00 Haunted Mansion w/Madame Carlotta or Rinotta
Just so you're aware, their time has not been confirmed for 2017

8:00-9:15 ? Ride other rides? Go to the first Hocus Pocus show at 8:15?
9:15-10:15 Hallowishes Dessert Party
10:15-10:30 Hallowishes
10:30-11:05 Hocus Pocus (or should we do first show and do attractions here? - I cannot make that decision for you, sorry )

Let's focus on this for now, you need to know where you're going to be in order to figure this out because timing is everything:
At Frontierland the parade will start at 11:15. If you want to find a front row spot and see the Headless Horseman subtract 30 minutes. So now your time changes from 11:15 to 10:45. The parade lasts 20 minutes which means it will be over by 11:35.

10:45-11:35 11:15 Boo To You Parade at Frontierland

11:05-11:45 11:15 Boo to You Parade
11:45-12:00 ? trick or treat?
12:00-12:20 Hocus Pocus
Since Hocus Pocus starts at 12:00, subtract 20 minutes = 11:40-12:20

Keep working on it you're doing a great job! Add these new times to your itinerary and just post a note. Please do not re-post your itinerary. I know where to find you! :-)

@FoxC63, updated my itinerary!

DH and I now have 10/1 party tickets (rescheduled our trip due to Irma)

Costumes- keeping it simple! I'm wearing a Darth Vader dress I found online, and DH is wearing a Luke Skywalker flight suit T-shirt

Plan to have a leisurely morning around the resort and leave CBR around 11am to head to MK.

11:00-12:00pm- Travel time from CBR to MK

~12:00pm- Arrive at MK using park pass to get in

12:15-12:45- Grab lunch at a QS (we are thinking Cosmic Rays)

12:50-1:05pm- Space Mountain (12:30-1:30pm FP+)

1:10-1:25- People Mover

1:35-1:50- Pirate of the Caribbean (1:30-2:30pm FP+)

1:55-2:20- Jungle Cruise

2:30-2:45- Big Thunder Mtn (2:30-3:30pm FP+)

*At this point we will check for FP+ for anything else we haven’t hit yet, but assuming we find nothing we will just move on to the following plan:

2:55-3:15- Haunted Mansion

3:25-3:40- It’s a small world

3:45-4:00- Head over to get Party Bands at Fantasy Faire

4:00-5:30- MOSEY. Shop around Halloween merch, maybe take a load off for a few, find a specialty snack (Thinking Liberty Sq Mkt for Haunted Mansion Tart)--Unless they are not released until 7, in which case we will put it off. Not necessarily in this order. Submit mobile order for food if we feel like eating and make our way that direction.

5:40-6:00- Mickey’s Philharmagic

6:05-7:00- Peter pan’s flight or SDMT (hope to find a last minute FP for this to save some time and hit the other during the first parade time)

7:00-7:30- Go find and check out Cadaver Dans

7:30-8:45- ToT, Buzz Space Ranger Spin, and maybe hit up Haunted Mansion again? No real plans at this point except bouncing around the park.

8:50-9:30- Peter Pan’s Flight or SDMT, whichever we were unable to do earlier

9:30-10:15- Find a spot for Hallowishes

10:15-10:30- Hallowishes

10:30-11:15- Find a spot for BTY Parade

11:15-11:30- BtY Parade

11:30-12am- Head to Hocus Pocus to wrap up the night.

Thoughts? Too much unplanned time? Wondering if we should maybe push back FPs and get to the park a little later?

I have added as much information on Post #2 thru #7 to make this process easier. If something has been confirmed by a fellow DISer their comments can be accessed as well. All posts are up to date with the latest information.

Party Date = Tuesday, October 3rd

We will be going to MK the same day we are doing MNSSHP. Original plan was to RD, leave after lunch, and come back by 4 for MNSSHP. I'm wondering if I can move the times of our FP later in the afternoon, if it might be better to sleep in this day, arrive after lunch, and then go until midnight. We have the opportunity for RD in MK the day after the party - prior to our Cindy's breakfast ADR at 9:25. I mainly want to do RD to see the park opening show, not to go jump on rides.

With that said, here is my itinerary for the day. I'm afraid I haven't left enough time to get a good spot for BTY, although the second parade is less crowded. Can I find a good spot for Hallowishes that would allow us to watch HP right after? We don't have to be super close, because DD will be leery of villains anyway.

9:00 Park Opening
9:20-9:45 FP Meet Rapunzel/Tiana, 9:20-10:20 (Me/DD)
9:35-9:55 FP BTRR, 9:35-10:35 (DH/stepD)
10:00-11:00 ????
11:00-11:25 FP Meet Ariel at her Grotto, 10:40-11:40 (Me/DD)
11:10-11:30 FP PotC, 11:10-12:10 (DH/stepD)
11:30-3:30 Eat lunch/Go back to Poly via boat/Rest
3:30-4:00 Return to MK from Poly (enter through regular ticket gate with park ticket)
4:05-4:25 FP 7DMT, 4:05-5:05 (Everyone)
4:30-5:15 Pickup MNSSHP Wristbands/QS Dinner
5:15-6:45 BBB
6:45-7:45 Moana M&G
7:45-9:15 ToT/Rides
9:15-10:30 Hallowishes (Someone get snacks after we find a spot to watch)
10:30-11:00 HP Spelltacular
11:00-11:35 BTY on Main Street

The other option that I haven't planned out yet, would be to try to move our 4 FP to 12-4:00 and not arrive at MK until noon. Would that be better? It would be 12 hours straight in the park. I would leave my 7DMT FP alone and try to move the princess M&Gs, BTRR, and PotC. Keep in mind that we have ALL DAY in MK the day after the MNSSHP, so there will be chances to ride again.

I like your morning plan of getting into MK at 9 - smart move!
10:00-11:00 ???? - Since you'll be in that area get a magic shot, look for hidden Pascals - there are ten of them, go window shopping, take in a show lots of options.
4:30-4:45 Pickup MNSSHP Wristbands (put in the location)
4:45- 5:15 QS Dinner
5:15-6:45 BBB
---Tag Team: Have DH get in Moana's line at least by 5:30, once you get there he can take off for a while.
6:45-7:45 Moana M&G
It all looks good from here!

Actually, we were right in front of the ice cream shop, across from Casey's for the fireworks last night and there was lots of room, right in the middle of the street. It wasn't crowded at all, compared to a regular fireworks night. I was quite surprised. Not sure if that is normally the case at parties, but I wish we hadn't wasted so much time waiting for them to start. The fireworks were amazing, though, so it was OK.

That's great to hear and definitely surprising! Not the norm for sure!

I totally agree here! First time I've ever read that.
