I didn't see MNSSHP listed on the Disney events page for this year. It IS still happening, isn't it? We loved it last time and are really looking forward to going again this year!!

Hi,

The dates are usually announced in mid-to-late April, and tickets go on sale around May 1.

I was there last yr during MNSSHP, but didn't attend....
I am taking the fam this year....but I learned it's an additional cost...
I, of course am going to do it...but can ya'll tell me exactly what it entails that makes it separate from the parks and worth the additional ticket prices?

Ok...I checked that out...

But...isn't that all stuff we can see or do without paying the extra?
Maybe I'm missing something?

This will be my SO first Disney trip....
and my girls will be 13, 8 and a 7 month old boy...

will we all be very sad if we see poeple going into a 'party' while we're walking around the parks dressed up??

hi just a fair WARNING we went last year and it downpoured and i mean downpoured and the thunder and lightening was soooo dangerous our night was ruined and they do not give refunds so all that extra money and the parade was cancelled, half the rides (i heard because we only lasted 20 minutes due to severe weather wasn't worth chancing getting struck by lightening and kids were soaked and very unhappy) were closed so IMO totally not worth getting the tickets before hand as again NO REFUNDS so we were very disappointed in the loss of almost 200.00

this will be our 3rd MNSSHP and we love it!!!!! There is a separate hard ticket for the party and as party time approaches between 4 and 7 p.m. you'll see CMs beginning to gently remind guests that they must have a party ticket to stay. If you choose not to go to party, I suggest you go to another park and save MK for a non-party day in order to get your full enjoyment of MK.

We went for the first time last year. We loved it. It did rain off and on which was disappointing..They cancelled the stage show with the Villans, because of it (Slippery??) But they did do the meet and greet. You see a lot of characters you wouldn't normal see. My DD got a picture with Maleficient. (This was totally random..she just started walking down from the castle with Jafar and we were standing there.)

The parade was excellent. and the lights/theming on main street was great.

The crowd levels are really low (I thought) starting at about 4 or 5 to 7...We walked on most rides (twice).

We will be going again this year. We thought it was worth it...Just hope it doesn't rain again.

So MK closes early then??
So, it might be worth it to have less people in the park....wow

It'd be ON Halloween I think that we'd do it...

It does close early. Party ticketed people can enter @ 4PM and you get a wristband...they start to usher others out at the same time. We went on Oct 30 last year. I was thinking the crowds might be higher on Halloween so we specifically avoided that. Both nights ended up sold out and I thought the crowds were very managable... The rain might have detered people though.

Keep in mind though, We were with young kids (4 mos to 5) that aren't hitting the height restricted rides.

I've heard of some people getting a 'raincheck' type ticket for another night though if it's so bad that they cancel shows and parades. Note that many of us wouldn't be there for more nights...etc but if you schedule it earlier on your trip maybe you could take advantage of getting another night if it was rained out.

We went 2 years ago and plan on going again this year :) You get a free family photo, tons and TONS of candy, neat headless horseman/parade/shows...etc. Free face painting and it was just overall fun :)

We went last year, and while we weren't rained out, it was sort of crowded. There was NO lines for any of the rides, but we could barely see the parade. I guess years ago. They actually closed down the park, and reopened it for guests with tickets to the event. Now they try to filter out everyone who doesn't have a bracelet on. Well, let me tell you, it was hard to find a guest WITH a bracelet on. I bet hundreds of people didn't leave and just stayed. It was fun, but I'm not sure if we'll do it again.

QUESTION...

if I rent points from a DVC member can they get me tickets at the discount?? Thanks.

We went last year....We got held up in the Trick or treat lines...this year if we go we'll avoid it...and we only stayed to see headless horseman and left before actualy parade which made me sad...we also missed some great photo ops...it was great for the rides...but really the WHOLE day was less crowded so if you're just going for rides, not a real benefit...we'd be going so kids could wear costumes and for the parade and photo ops...not sure if it's worth $150+....yikes.
