MNSSHP..10/6 or 10/7

I am buying by tickets tomorrow for MNSSHP and it's our first MNSSHP and a surprise for the kids I was planning on buying them for 10/6 thinking Thursday would be less crowded than Friday...but reading on these boards I have noticed lots are going on the 6th and haven't seen any for the 7th. So which do you experts think is the best day??

I would still lean towards the 6th. These boards are only a very small minority of who will actually be attending. Since that is a school night, that pretty much rules out locals with kids attending. That is also the weekend of Columbus Day. I know a lot of schools have time off for that holiday so the closer you get to the weekend the more crowded it will probably be. Last year we attended on a Wednesday and again on Sunday. Wed. was much less crowded but both nights were great. We are going back this year on a Thursday just to avoid the weekend as much as possible.

Do MNSSHP on the 6th. Last year the party on the Friday of Columbus day weekend sold out. Also not as many locals will be at the Thursday party because most of thier children will have school the next day.

We (myself,dh,dsil ,dd ,and grandson Alex age 3 ) are going Friday the 7th.
Our college age daughter is flying in for the weekend so she can join her nephew and us for MNSSHP.
Most people say week days are less crowed but remember tickets are limited
even if it is sold out.
Also MNSSHP is getting more popular and free dining lasts into the beginning
of October.
My guess is a lot of party dates will be sold out.
