Is the wait for MMRR long almost immediately? If we are in the park at 10 am to get a boarding group for ROTR and head directly to MMRR, how long do you think it would be? I checked at 10:20 this morning and I think it said 130 minutes! I have 2 small children so a long wait is not really doable. I think 40 min is the absolute max they could handle. Any advice for what time is the best to try to so this ride?

Yes, it's routinely been hour and half to 2 hours right at opening

You can be in line and get your BG they are not separate activities. Also they allow you to line up for MMRR slightly after 9a.

What time are they opening the gate to the park for a 10AM official opening?

If you can, wait til around closing time. I have read and looked at Wait time apps, and the wait time drops a lot, where most rides are walk-on to 10 minutes and MMRR has been about 30.

As mentioned before, wait until closing. Or just after a rain shower like yesterday. Much of the queue is outside although there are some umbrellas. We were in about a 45min line when the rain hit. We pulled out our ponchos as some folks scattered. After riding MMRR it was still raining a little bit but the line was only about 20min starting with when you actually walk under the covered entrance. So we did it again!

They've been all over the place allowing you to enter at 9am, then it was 9:30, then 9:15, i think end of day is a good strategy

I've watched a few vlogs and all have said that MMRR is extremely busy at opening but much lighters after noon.

DHS has been opening all over the place. We have gotten BG while walking through line. You need to get to the gate probably by 9:15-9:30 to get on/off quickly. MMRR tends to run first thing but can break down during the day. They sometimes start running a little before 10am.

We did MMRR first thing after HS opened yesterday. We entered the park around 9:30 and pretty much went straight for the MMRR queue, which had already opened and was starting to look pretty long. The wait time was posted at 45 minutes at that point, but we ended up waiting only 25 minutes and were done with the attraction soon after official park opening. It actually worked out perfectly so that we were able to enter the virtual queue for ROTR right at 10:00 and then get on MMRR just a couple minutes after. However, by the time we were off of MMRR, the posted wait time was closer to 2 hours, and I agree with others that it seemed to get shorter and shorter as the day went on. It seems that if you happen to be one of the earlier people in the park before 10:00 and can go straight into the MMRR queue like we did, you may be able to ride it at opening with little to no wait, but if not, I'd just wait until later in the day.

Did you guys stay on property or drive in? We are staying at Contemporary this week and I am trying to find info on if Lyft is allowed in or if resort bus is a better option.

We were staying at Wilderness Lodge and took the bus to the park. I think we got lucky with timing on that. We arrived at the bus stop just a few minutes after 9:00, and the HS bus was sitting right there with space for us. The bus left by 9:10 and enabled us to be entering the park by 9:30.

When our bus arrived at the park, the parking lot had already opened, so I think we technically could have arrived a little earlier had we taken a Lyft and left the hotel sooner, but we were satisfied with using the bus and getting into the park when we did.

Is it stressful joining a BG in the MMRR line? Is the service good inside? I’m worried that they might start loading before 10a

It actually wasn't too stressful - we turned off wifi on our phones and had very good cell phone signal from the MMRR line (using AT&T). We had just entered the indoor portion of the queue at that point, so we weren't far into the building yet, and service was exactly the same as when we were outside.

The only caveat is that I'm pretty sure they did start loading MMRR before 10:00, just based on how shortly after 10:00 we were on the ride itself. So I could see a situation where you end up on the ride at 10:00 depending on where in the line you are, which would be really hard to predict.

Thank you! We usually Lyft to HS but I have head weird things about parking and wasn’t sure if Lyft would be held out. If we don’t have a bus waiting we may Lyft to Boardwalk and walk in. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We were really confused as well - our plan was basically the same as yours, to take the bus if it was waiting, but to use Lyft if not. It was nice that the bus happened to work out.

I can confirm that Lyft was allowed to drop people off at Epcot on the day we were there, since my brother-in-law who went to Epcot that same day used Lyft from WL and had no issues getting through and being dropped off at the park entrance prior to park opening. I'm assuming the procedure would be basically the same at HS, so I think if you use Lyft, you can probably do it directly to the park rather than to BW (although if you get there too early and parking hasn't opened yet, that could add a wrinkle where you're sitting in a line of cars to get through the parking toll booths in your Lyft). It's all very confusing right now!

Wait I am confused. Are you saying Disney is opening their parks prior to advertised time(10AM)? I thought Disney is super strict on exactly when the park opens/closes?

In the past Disney has opened the park depending on the crowds outside, DHS and AK regularly opened earlier than posted to allow people to line up for the popular rides, at MK they opened main street usa an hour before park opening, epcot usually opened on time
Since the parks reopened they have been opening before their advertised time. Ive gone inside mk around 8:40, ak at 7:45, dhs 9am, epcot 10:30.
The attractions are usually closed but you can head to your first attraction and wait

In March we were one of the first groups on MMRR one morning. They opened the doors to the building 15 minutes before park opening and we were concerned about the signal (we turned off the wifi and were on our data of Verizon) and getting our boarding group. So we, and actually everyone else in the car with us, kept checking our signal in case we had to try for our boarding group while riding. Talk about distractions while riding! Anyway, our signal stayed strong throughout the ride, maybe it dropped slightly but it never went super low or lost signal.

We were there yesterday. Walked over from Boardwalk. They opened the park at 9:15 went straight to RR. went right in. They didn’t actually start boarding the ride until 9:30. By the time we got off, the wait was 45 minutes.
