MM Warriors - Three Steps to Good Health (As of 11/18)

Lisa - I am saving my opened boxes of icky tea for Nell for Christmas, but I will be happy to throw in some birdseed crackers for you!! Hop in the truck!!

You have no idea how much fun it would be to have that retreat here at my farm...besides the Godiva ride, it would be so fun to have everyone together, all the doggies together...I am picturing a giant bonfire under a starry sky with my awesome mountain view, and all of us having a legal weenie roast and then have the ponies take us on a hayride!!! So when did you say y'all could make it here!! Im thinking April or May when it is so gorgeous here and the weather is awesome!!:cool1: It could be one big MM birthday party!

Cough up those birthdates those of you who havent already!!!:)

I can't wait! It would be soooo much fun! A think a big pajama party would be great after the weenie roast!:cutie:

Kate: Have you seen that 'resort' at Big Sur with the yurts? They have a chef and massages and everything for a romantic retreat. You should kidnap Brad sometime after he's finished with one of these big work stints.

Hello Ladies!!! How is everyone doing? I have been so busy with work and kids and family issues. I've been trying to read and catch up, but I'm just skimming.

Nell- I'm so glad you got your "package". Love you!!!

I'm doing really good and exercising a TON. It's ridiculous but now I'm addicted. I can see a difference now. Not in weight unfortunately, but I'm turning every fat cell in to muscle!!! YIPPPPEEEEE. Staying on plan for the most part. I think I slipped once but had some stress and not going to let it drag me down. Taking LOTS of vitamins and I think that is what is keeping me healthy. That and I don't get out much since I work from home.

Is everyone ready for the big Turkey day?

Hope everyone is having a good day and I will try to check in more frequently.

LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Cindy: I was just thinking about you this morning! How is your Mom doing? Has she begun treatments yet? It's wonderful to hear you so full of life and energy! This exercise program must be good for your marriage, too.;) Come back when you can and don't worry about the one slip - NBD.

Melanie:

There was a discussion about the one-minute muffins on the last thread. I think that Kathy found the recipes on Low Carb Friends - actually it is a whole thread with discussions about variations on the recipe. The link to the Low Carb Friends thread was posted. I am going to try to copy it.... If it doesn't work, it was post #1480 on the thread we just finished over here at Disney Forums.

http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/l...97336-thank-you-4-1-minute-muffin-recipe.html

I also put it in the recipe forum and put the link with it also. Just a heads up.

Woo Hoo! Party!

Oh, Kate, you reminded me of the time young J-P snuck out with the neighbor kids and tried too much alcohol on a dare. He threw up the better part of the night and his Dad, while helping to hold his head over the toilet, took every opportunity between vomits to drag him up by his hair and yell into his face, "Party! Is this a party??!!" I cried all night and now I laugh so hard when I remember my Tom's voice! Oh, yeah and there was the part when he projectile vomited on me. Not a good move on his part. I cut up his driver's license.:rotfl:

I am coming into this way late and haven't read the middle pages, but you can't base a dry liquid's weight on its volume, it must be weighed. The 8 oz in 1 cup is for liquid measure. You might want to weigh your pecans to be sure.

Back to reading.

Thanks for that heads up! I never once thought of that! DUH!
I hope I haven't been doing myself in. I've been eating them as a 5x5 and it is working great for my "texture" type cravings.
I'll check the weights tomorrow for sure.
Thanks for catching that.

Good evening everyone. I'll try to remember all the responses.

Lisa, so glad you're feeling better. Just continue to take it easy the rest of the evening.

Laura, sorry you're feeling crappy. Please be careful and get to a doctor if you feel as though it's getting worse. Don't want to chance you getting even sicker.

Carol, glad your day is going a bit better. I would love to find a s/f low carb cake that tasted as good as regular cake does!

Robin, hope your mood is a bit better. We had a down pour day today. Just made me sleepy. One of those days that would have been great to stay in bed.

Sandra, great to "see" you around! Don't be a stranger! Any time you feel like talking, we are here!!

Melanie, hope you enjoy all your festivities. It is such a busy time of year for sure, but love it anyway.

Kate, so glad your niece is doing better. I will continue to pray for her.

Carrie did well going back to "normal" school. I did find out a bit of information though. I guess a couple weeks ago, there was a junior they found with 2 bags of weed. They caught him selling it at school. He got a 3 day suspension. That is it. I think I may be calling a lawyer now about discrimination. How can that be less of a "crime" than what happened to Carrie? This is really boiling my blood now.

Michael called his cousin today. He is in Pittsburgh. Not too sure of where in the city he is, but I can almost guarantee it's the "drug" side. He said a couple cops stopped him and asked for ID. When he didn't produce any, they told him where to get it. Almost like he was boasting about not being arrested. That is pretty much all we know at this point.
Thank you for all the prayers. I really appreciate it.

If anyone orders vitamins online, Puritan's Pride is running a special, buy 2 get 3 free. Just got the catalog in the mail. You can do it online also.

Going to read my book for a bit then off to bed. Have a great night everyone, and sweet dreams. And may God bless you all as much as he did me when he "gave" you all to me. Love you!!

Kathy: I read a couple pages from the link on the muffin and it sounds very promising. I might try it with my pumpkin syrup. A lot of those people were happy with golden flax as the meal. I have almond flour so might use that.

I'm for the party at Robin's. Just let me pack my jammies, a change of underwear and Lobster's food bowl and we're on our way. I'll bring the olives.

You know what I hope, too, is that we get to do the Oprah show and all have a paid vacation to Chicago- that's where it's taped, isn't it? To have them bring us all up on stage to meet each other for the first time...how cool would that be? All the drama, tears and screams of excitement would make the show!

I have done the muffin with cocoa and some s/f chocolate Torani syrup. Frosted it with some cream cheese mixed with a little splenda and vanilla. It was good.

We think alike, Carol! That would be so awesome to meet on Oprah! I forgot to tell you all that Cost Plus has the Torani syrups on sale. I was going to remember the price and I forgot, of course!

Hi everyone! Just got home from an appointment down in Gulf Port near St. Petersburg. It is so cute down there! We are thinking it might be a relocation possibility when our lease is up.

Ok, I've got to catch up on everyone. I'll talk to you in a few! :grouphug:

Pony, I will keep praying for your friend. Although it's a difficult fight, people recover from lung cancer. Let's keep praying it hasn't spread. Pony, I said no more packages, tea or not, lol. Was your morning blood sugar any lower when you were having a carb dam in the middle of the night? Hey, what are you going to do if you get up one morning and we've all set up camp in your back yard? Actually April or May could work for me if school is out. Let me know! If nothing else there is your wedding! My birthday is March 23rd.

Sandra, it is great to see you. I agree Kate, everyone in this group has become my best friends. It's amazing what has happened between all of us! I feel so blessed.

Kate, I'm really glad the security system at work is back in place. Any word on updating to a deadbolt?

Carol, I think that ten days on step one is normally the solution, but we're going to have Thanksgiving soon. I'm not sure how you'd handle that. Remember, if you do go back to step one, it's not a punishment. It's just part of this new way of dealing with our metabolisms that we are going to live and thrive with now.:flower3:

Beverly, that is great that your husband is keeping track of your toning! :rotfl: It must have made you feel really good when he said that!

Laura, I hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the advice about disability. I know that the injury started in the Army, so we are in the process (red tape) of having the Military disability kick in. It takes a while though. Things are looking so much brighter today. I'm going to be quiet about it before I start crying again though.

Cindy, Wal-Mart had turkey at 40 cents a pound tonight. So not only am I ready for Turkey day, but I have three turkey's in the freezer now! Turkey Salad anyone?

Kathy, I think seeing a lawyer for Carrie is a good idea about now. Has she given you any direction about what she want to do or not do? I hope you have a wonderful sleep tonight!

Well, I'm going to make a cup of decaf. That sounds really good right now. It's 61 degrees, and I have to take my ribose supplement. It sweetens the coffee a little. Check in a bit later! :grouphug:

I don't feel better, but that's boring to talk about. Tom's making me a breakfast tortilla for dinner and I'll go to bed early. Love you guys!

hope you're better today--will continue reading and hope that you'll post that!

OMG I am so excited that everyone is packing and on their way! :lmao:

NOthing like a good ole MM PARTY!! I think the PJ party theme is awesome!!

Kathy - thanks for the black friday link...is there a similar deal for online shopping that day? I refuse to go into the stores, but do most of my shopping online...just curious! thanks for the heads up on the Puritan sale too, Im due for an order! Glad you at least had some word that Michael is ok for now...praying he doesnt get into too much trouble in the city...I am in a better mood today, dont have a clue what got ahold of me yesterday:confused3

Nell - hope Marti had some good news at the appointment and glad you had a good day.

Cindy - good job on the exercise - I figure if I cant LOSE the weight at least I will make it muscle and it will look so much better!!:thumbsup2

Kate - what the heck is a yurt?

Carol - that would be so amazing for us all to meet on OPRAH!! BTW, no olives in my house, they will have to stay outside in the barn!! :rotfl:

Lisa -
I can remember a friend of mine getting caught smoking as a youngster...his Dad made him smoke the entire rest of the pack one right after the other...I think he turned green, and to this day he has never smoked again!

OK, off to the gym and a break from these phone calls here today!! Much rather talk to you guys then customers!!

Lisa - we are all so, so lucky to have you in our lives...you are always there with the right things to say! I reminded myself again today that all the things you said to Carol also apply to Pony!! Thanks for being such a wonderful friend!

Jocelyn - you are so right about wishing we could simply wish the weight off each other!! I would gladly wish it all off ANY of you anytime!!

Geez, I am feeling mushy this evening...just got the news that a good friend has lung cancer and was laid off his job the day after being given the diagnosis....:sad1:, then to come here and be lifted up once again by what a wonderful, caring, loving group we have here just makes me feel all sad and glad and happy and weepy all at the same time...if I wasnt menopausal I would think I was getting my period or something!! (sorry Tom) Prayers please for Dennis, and his partner Ricky...they have been together for 20 years and Ricky was also laid off two days later...a more wonderful couple of men I have never known...its hard to know sometimes why bad things happen to good people...

Continuing to pray for Kate's niece, Kathy's daughter and step-son, and all the others who need our prayers so much...the Lord works in mysterious ways...

Sorry to be such a downer this evening...even the gym hasnt cheered me up! Thanks for listening...:grouphug:

ug--heartbreaking. prayers to Dennis and Ricky

Feast upon the Words of Christ

Just heard today that Oprah is stopping her show in 2011--got to get on there before that!

Lisa - My mom is in a little bit of pain, but she won't really admit how much. It's right on her spine so I can't imagine it feels too good especially sleeping.

Robin - OMG I feel the same way. If I can't lose the weight, I'll make it muscle!

Nell - Wegmans has turkeys here for .29 a pound. I need to wait until Sunday cause we're driving up to my mom's house and I'm bringing all the fixins with me. Hopefully, they will still have the sale on.

Hope everyone else has a nice evening! I think I'm going to go grab me a nice hot cup of tea.:surfweb:
