MM at DHS going to be tough to get

Get ready for a large queue in the lobby. As of this morning, 7 months from 9/22, all studios at OKW and SSR (std & pref) are gone for 9/22. It is the only day past 6/29 that SSR studio PREF is not available. Across all resorts, 9/15, 9/22 and 10/6 are showing very limited availability in all room categories. I expect a frenzy on July 15 when the reservation window opens for MM.

I noticed that also. Fortunately, I was able to book BCV at 11 months from it, but I was looking to add a few September nights at another resort and noticed it.
BTW, I've never done a MM event before. Will I automatically receive an Email before July 15th about registering?

You should, but some have stated they do not get those emails. You don't need the email to register. I would make your calendar, go to the MM benefit in the benefits area at 8:30 am EDT on 7/15 and enter the queue. Once active, the link in the email and on the MM info page go to the same place.

"Enter the queue"?! Have they changed the registration procedure from a couple of years ago? (I am one of those people who don't usually get DVC emails.)

Thanks so much! Putting 7/15 at 7:15 (we'll be in CDT here) on my calendar.

The morning of registration there will be a link to enter a virtual queue. Anyone who enters prior to 9:00 will be given a random number at 9:00. Anyone who enters after 9 just joins at the end of the line. It works so much better than the old system.

Thanks for the info! This will be my first time trying for MM. Does having multiple browsers open worth it?

Many people will do that. They'll have a few browsers/devices open and then just keep the one with the lowest number. The numbers drop pretty quick as people close their additional windows.

Thanks so much. But soooo do some people join this queue like at midnight the night before? Is there any advantage to doing it earlier rather than later? Is it a totally random thing now? Does this virtual queue mean I will have to be watching all day for my number to show up? Does it give me a time or something? I am a project manager and summer is our busy season - I drive around all day from job site to job site and meet with customers a lot too so this may be hard for me to pin point. I'm getting nervous already that I'll miss out!!:scared:

Can't. Doesn't work that way.

It is random at the start of registration. Anyone who comes in later gets assigned back of queue. Once queued, you have to sit in the virtual queue until your number comes live.

You just sign in and wait. Annie, can a family member do it for you?

I saw someone else say to join at 8:30 so I was curious how early you could actually do it.

So I will have to sit online and watch all day for it to show up? Uggg.

It used to be you could queue early, but now if you're on early it doesn't give you any real advantage on what spot in line you're assigned. Kinda like Rise of the Resistance. Getting there at 6:30am doesn't get you a better spot than the person who squeaks in at rope drop.

How long do you think it usually takes for the queue to move? Like will it tie up my whole day? I remember when I was trying to get Hamilton tix - I had to wait in a virtual queue for like 6 hours or something like that.

I was mostly thinking that I may have to be driving (in DC traffic) at that exact time so I was wondering if I could join early, before I have to get in my car to leave the house......

Which do you think gives you a lower number-entering before 9:00 (I assume that's the EST, so 8:00 here) or getting in within a minute of 9:00? I think I've heard from a couple people who got in line around 8:45 and got numbers around 2000, yet people who can get on at 9:00 get under 500. Since I'm retired, so I can get into the queue anytime.

It's just random...you never know. I've tried a couple different things and it made no difference.

For the April 2020 MK MM, I registered and got in the queue as soon as I could and just left it running on the computer. When the registration opened up, the sign-up went pretty quickly, I think I was done within the first hour.

The early registration says it is random, so there is no advantage to signing in early or later.
