MLK week at VWL

Do I have any chance at getting a studio at VWL for the Sun -Thurs of MLK week at the 7 mo window? First day I can call member services to book is this wed.

Also, have the rooms at VWL been refurbished recently and do they have hdtv's?

I'm sure there is a chance. Keep in mind that Sunday might be your problem day. I also have to call this week for my Jan 2011 trip and I already checked Sunday the 16th at the BWV and the standard studio is not available, so I will call on the 17th and try to book, and try to waitlist for the 16th. It's easy to WL for your first day/a single day. Just book a room elsewhere just in case you need it. Since I'll be booking a 2 week trip, it does get a little more complicated. You have to have a backup plan. We are looking at a split stay (which we never like), and waitlisting for the week we can't get in to make it a full stay. The strategy that goes into these reservations are crazy sometimes.

I stayed at a VWL studio last October, I don't think they had a flat screen tv.

I just booked a BLT MK view 2br for 4 nights starting 1/13 yesterday, and have done pretty good luck at the 7 month window in January in the past.

I havent stayed at VWL , but it is pretty obvious from photos that they have flat screen LCD TVs throughout. However the Wilderness Lodge Resort (different from the villas) might not.

As far as I know, the following DVC resorts dont have LCD tvs:

SSR - Only the treehouse villas have LCD TVs
Beach Club Villas - No HDTVs
OKW - They have started reburbishing. Some room have the LCD tvs. All rooms will have them by middle of 2011.

We were at VWL last August in a 1-bedroom, and there were no flat screen tvs.

Since the renovation happened in 2007 I'm not sure why some members here have not see the flat screen TV in their rooms in 2009. I have seen many many photos of VWL studios and 1 bedrooms with flat screen TVs.

Congratulations. I've seen several folks having trouble with the 16th, so glad to hear someone got a studio. I call tomorrow, but I'm flexible. I already knew that the BWV has no standard studios available when I called several weeks ago on the 16th and 23rd. So I guess I'll call with the old, what's available line. Thinking of the AKV standard view might be my best shot, followed by OKW. I'm planning a 15 night stay, so I've got alot of calling to do. I'm prepared to split if I have to.

Today was my 7 month window and also got into the BWV-standard studio for 6 nights Jan 17-23. Wanted the 23rd but not available.
