MLB Opening Day

big unit on the mound for the giants. hopefully they can score runs and he has good command. he is going for 299 tonight.

Nope, it said 298. That was a good article though. Gotta read the new Tom Brady article from today. :)

Haha

Notes

Both the Cardinals and Brewers have Thursday off. … LaRue was nearly dead meat when he accidentally stepped in front of the Racing Sausages during the Miller Park tradition before the bottom of the sixth inning. LaRue hopped out of the way just in time. … Ludwick (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the DL on Friday. … Ankiel played on Sunday against Kansas City, but didn’t appear in the series against the Brewers. … Brewers RF Corey Hart(notes) and 3B Bill Hall(notes), both struggling, had the day off.

Jason LaRue.. I have to laugh at the thought of him still being in the major leagues. Wow, he was a disaster for the Reds.

I already used my 25 online votes. Every game I go to I do about 20 punch-out ballots.

Manny better not be put on that all-star team

did anyone vote yet? Im going to now

What's almost as bad is how Joey Votto has received zero love. If he was eligible per AB's, he'd be leading the NL in batting average. He's had something like forty less AB's than Prince Fielder, yet still only has two less HR's. He has a better slugging percentage, more doubles, almost half the K's, only ten less RBI's, one less R scored and much better defense than Fielder. In fifty less AB's than Ryan Howard, he has only one less RBI, four less HR's, many less K's, one less double, and much better defense. Not to mention he has a better OPS, OBP, 2B per AB, HR per AB, and fielding percantage than both of them. He has less experience than both, which is a positive for Votto considering the numbers he's putting up.. He's easily in the argument for the second best 1B in the NL, yet isn't even in the top five as far as votes go. I hope that the NL Manager in the All-Star game realizes that this kid should be on the roster.

Wow, there is a Brewer in the top two for every position for all star voting. Even though I'm a fan, I think it's more because of us voting for Milwaukee players instead of people voting for skill.
I only think that Ryan Braun is at the top of outfielders because he has a huge fan base. He has a good average and OBP, but he's cooled down considerably.
Bill Hall is really suprising. He is a good fielder, but he hasn't been swinging well the past few years, including this one. Especially after going 1-28 on that last road trip...

Where's Adrian Gonzalez in the All-Star voting!!! He's tied for first in the MLB for home runs! It's just a popularity contest.:sad1:

HR are the worst way to measure a player's abilities. He has a very low RBI amount for the number of HR's he's hit, less than five doubles, a weak OPS considering his HR numbers, and 40 K's. While he should be in the top five, he's probably not a top three 1B in the NL.

Just got back from the Mets/Nationals game about an hour ago. Glad Santana got the sweep for us even if he was looking a little iffy.

Also I think we may hold the record for Replay calls going our way. We're 5 for 5 this season.
