Since it opens @ 10:00am is ther any special activities happeing at time? Is that the best time go? Does it crowded as day goes on?


If you're at Fantansyland and it's reaching 10A, would you head to Toontown? Will lines be long at the Tent for the characters?

Generally some characters come out to open the land. It is usually Mickey and/or Goofy on the train station side of Toon Town. If it is Mickey he picks a family to be the first into his home. If it is Goofy he will pick a family to ride the Barnstormer with him. On the other side I have only seen Alice and the Mad Hatter if any characters come to that rope drop. You can ride the train to Toon Town if you want. They will have the ropes up blocking off the land, however Toon Park (the playground) and Donald's Boat will be open at 9am as the ropes are behind that so there is a waiting place for those that want to get their first. In my experience on that side the crowd is generally light (about 10-30 People or so) as most people wait on the Fantasyland side for entry...If you wait till later in the day the area can become congested and Mickey's Meet and Greet area in his house can get a long line.

We were there at the opening on one day and later on another. It was much better when were were there at opening. We got to see Minnie and Mickey. Getting on the train is a great idea! It was kind of fun to see the characters open Toontown. Mickey and the gang from Poon dropped the rope that day!

Last time I was at Toontown for rope drop, a bunch of characters (Goofy, Max, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Pluto, maybe a few others...) came out and walked everyone down to the main square in Toontown between the Barnstormer and the Tent. Goofy and Max got on the Barnstormer and the rest stayed for meet-and-greets outside the tent before heading inside.
