Or rather, what ride do you run to first?

I've worked out which parks/which days, and am now lost at what to do when I arrive, especially at MK.

Which direction should I go when the park opens... can anyone give me a brief idea of how to start my day at MK? (PS: I will be there on May 18th, not an early entry EMH day.)

Ideas muchos appreciatedos. :teeth:

Since we usually go at a quiet time in the MK we do the predictable and go to Buzz. It really only works because other than Mickey's Philharmagic DS doesn't like the Fantasyland rides, and usually it's value season.

In MGM-- TOT or RNRRC and get a FP for the other.

Epcot-- TT or M:S and get a FP for the other.

AK-- Well usually we go see the ITTBAB-- because it's right there and there is literally no wait. Then we head to the safari. We've still never waited more than 15 minutes at the safari going there second. So, we usually stick to this plan.

Last couple of trips, we have been there at very crowded times. We go for Buzz first and ride it a couple of times. I know this is not what everyone recommends but we do not storm Space Mt. right away. We find SO MANY rush for it at park opening that if we do it a little later (after Buzz) Space Mtn is actually a little better.

We do Fantasyland after we have done a few things in Tomorrowland If you have young ones with you, you might want to go to Fantasyland first.

Have fun!!!

Wow, I was there last year and didn't realize Buzz was actually a good ride... or perhaps a ride at all. Oops.. apparently it is the ride you all rush to! Silly me.

Splash Mtn. has always been my fave, I thought most people would say there? Does that line get long fast? Should I not be going there first? I used to just rush there, shoving anyone and everyone out of my way! j/k... sort of

thanks so far!

Buzz is a ride through ride w/ a sort of arcade game built right in. It is one of mine and DS's favorites. I like to be at Toontown at opening. It seems so busy the rest of the afternoon. So, I like to start my morning in the general vicinity and stay in the area. Toontown doesn't open until an hour after regular park opening.

I always ride Dumbo first. Since it holds very few people, you must ride it early in the morning, or you might not get to ride it at all. I then head to Tomorroland and do Buzz Lightyear. You might want to grab a Fastpass for Mickey's Phiharmagic in the meantime. I definitely do Fantasyland first.

With us it's usually Phillarmagic.. I know it's not a ride, but it is still great. If not than Splash MT. In December it was our 2nd time going and our first to ride BTMRR. DW loved this ride. A secret..ride Splash and BTMRR during the day and then again at night. Different experience with the lighting.

We will be hitting Dumbo first thing. We have only gone during slow times, when we haven't had to wait in line for any ride but Peter Pan in MK and Dumbo. Dumbo's line is HORRID! So, we will hit that first, then head over to PP, Mickey's Philharmagic, It's A Small World, Pooh, etc, then hit Toontown when it opens.

We always and I stress always do Fantasyland 1st especially with younger children....Its the slowest and most crowded area of the park with the Jungle cruise and carpet ride area being a close second....If you have small kids head to FL 1st do Dumbo anf the Merry go round FP Pooh, see Small world, PP and Snow White and Philharmagic....the less kids have to stand in line the better there day is...Now if you have no kids or older kids I would hit the big 3 in whatever order you wanted probably Space mountain 1st and maybe grab a FP for buzz on the way....then head to BTMRR and SM...then see what you want at your own pace....just my 2 cents

Have those of you that have gotten there at opening, gone straight to Fantasyland, found it to work well. Meaning the lines aren't long at all during say the first hour you are there?

Last June we were able to enter the park at 9AM (stayed offsite) and we hit:
1. Buzz
2. Pooh
3. Snow White
4. Peter Pan
5. Philharmagic and so on....

No lines at all. Walked right onto the rides and completed FantasyLand by 10AM. It was great!!

This year we are doing much the same, but on our second day at MK swapping over to try to do BTMR first.

We are 2 big kids... haha, so even though we don't have little ones, we want to hit up Fantasyland before the rest of Orlando-- I don't know if I can justify 2 hours in line waiting for Pooh in my mind. :)

These are excellent tips... I've never done Fantasyland in the morning, and have usually missed most of its rides in the past.

Well... after they got rid of Mr. Toad... *sniff*

Thanks everyone!

Thats exactly why we head to FL first because there are no lines and we are finished with the slowest most time consuming land by the time Toon town opens so we head there see the characters and ride goofys coaster and take the back trail to SM and hit TL...by then its close to peak lunch time so we make a late PS around 2 for CP....so by the time lunch starts we have finished FL, toontown and TL....If we finish early we head to CP...after that we hit HM and frontierland and end the day with adventureland....The only ride we have ever had any wait is JC why I do not know but its always 25 minutes and I dont think its worth burning a FP so we usually skip it...no big loss...too us its a boring ride....We use our fastpasses for other rides if necessarry but have seldom had to use them....Now keep in mind we always go in early december so crowds are not that high

We ALWAYS race to Splash first, because the queue (as you guys say, LINE!) is always huge later in the day and FPs can run out. We usually do BTM straight after, then we take it easier and don't have a set routine after that. We do what we fancy!

I would say Splash, especially because you really like it. If you had small children I would say Dumbo and the rest of Fantasyland. Buzz is a great ride, but it's pretty easy to get a fastpass for.

Since you don't have kids, you can probably skip Dumbo--ride Alladin's Magic Carpets for the same experience, different movie. You can always do Dumbo when you are there late at night. It's actually fun to see the park and castle all lit up. First thing in the a.m., I grab a fast pass for Winnie the Pooh or Buzz and then go on some other Fantasyland rides. If you are planning on riding the Tomorrowland Speedway, I'd do it immediately. It runs very slowly.

Oh, I forgot about the speedway. DS is just dying to go on it, so I might take him on that after Fantasy Land and send DH over to Space Mountain. Thanks for the tip on how slowly it goes. I didn't know anything about it!

We literally ran to Space Mountain and rode 3x in a row. You'll still have no wait if you do this for Buzz nearby. Then truck it over to Splash and Big Thunder and you'll still have little or no line. At least we did last week

I go to Peter Pan's Flight...it seems to have a long line all day long...and it is one of my favorites...it makes me feel like a kid...so it is a great way to start my day!
