So I take it the train will not be running on our October trip this year? What about when they do the opening for the MK and the characters would ride the train?

Gosh, i hope the train is running. I just took it as not stopping at that stop but maybe i'm wrong. My DD is so looking forward to the train!

All the stops are working. The steps on the right are closed off but the others are open.

They are going to be moving the worked area around. They have not started working on the front yet, but when they do they will be putting a skrim up so that it still looks good in pictures from a ways off.

All train stops are working. From the rear, facing the station, the left side is open and you can access the train from there.

To get up to the train, simply enter through the right (if entering the park) entry way and proceed to the stairs.

I couldn't get a picture but I took a peek on the interior lower level of the station and it is COMPLETELY gutted, down to the bare concrete walls. The entire floor is ripped up and there is NOTHING in there, so it looks as if they are doing a COMPLETE rebuild of the interior.

Also if you notice they have ripped up the street and sidewalk in the worked on area of Main St in the back of the station. I dont know what they are doing but it seems that it's MUCH more than your standard clean-up and repaint job. They are doing some extreme cosmetic work and may be substantially changing the look of the back loop of Main St.

They are actually removing the curb. When it is finished it will be a slopped entry like Center street (the middle of Main Street going into the Emporium). They have said that that portion (the actual street) should be done the first week of October so it should only affect the first 1 or 2 MNSSHP.

As was mentioned they are doing the rehab in sections so the train will not be affected by the rehab. The Main Street station will be open through the entire rehab, they will just be changing entrance and exit locations througout.

As for the morning character show, it is still going on (every morning except Wed...Early entry) as of right now. The plan when they move to the front of the station is to make the Mickey Floral smaller and extend the platform that the dancers use. There currently have been no confirmed answers to the "show question" but the show will have to be modified if not canceled when they start that portion of the rehab as they will be working on the dancers platform.

Does this mean that they took out all of the lockers under the train station ?

They are doing this in stages, so no. The lockers on one side of the station are still there and can be rented, but the other side is gone and under construction. I dont know if they have removed the lockers in that area but it is boarded off. I assume when they finish that side they'll reopen it while closing the other side to allow locker rentals. However only 1/2 the lockers are available as normal.

They are moving things around. Currently the lockers on the right side of the station (by the current stroller rental) are still avalaible, but the ultimate plan is to remove the lockers and station break gifts from under the station completely. They are moving the lockers over to the current stroller/wheelchair rental area and stroller/wheelchair rental will be getting a new (much larger) home under the train station.

Well while I understand room is a necessity and there may be more under the station, that is a complete shame that they are turning the underside of the station to a stroller/wheelchair rental.

The station was great to just walk through and admire. Now it's going to be a stroller/wheelchair rental. That's horrible. DISSENT FELLOW DIS'ERS! :guilty:

Can you still go up on the platform of the train station and watch Wishes?

Yes... They are working in segments so that the train operation is not affected by the rehab. Currently they have the front "porch" blocked off from about the middle over to the City Hall side. From the middle over to the Expo Hall is still open for guests and there are still chairs there. When they are done with the City Hall side, they will reopen that side and close the Expo Hall side. This way half of the center stairway will remain open for those wanting to board the train at main street.

The first part of the curb rehab (on the park side of the station) is to be done the first week of October. The actual station rehab is scheduled to be complete by December 20th, but it is done in phases so they still need to finish the City Hall side, move over to the Expo Hall side and then out to the front. Hopefully it will be done on time so it will be complete for Christmas.
