Hi, we will be in MK in 2 weeks and from there we will be going over to FW for the Hoop De Doo Review. In the past we have taken the boat from MK over to FW. I will now be using an ECV and am wondering about the possibility of taking the boat.

Are all boats from MK to FW ecv accessible?
Will I have to wait for a "special" boat that can accomodate the ECV?

Thanks,

Karen :)

There are 2 "styles" of boats that will go from FW to MK and back. One is a "launch". It is an open air boat and it is not accessible. It is a small boat and everyone on the boat has to be seated. The other boat is a large "cruiser". It is accessible. Both types of boats travel between the fort and the MK. Most of the time I see the cruisers making the trip. You shouldn't have a problem going over on the boats. An alternative way to go would be to take a bus to the Wilderness Lodge and then take a bus over to FW.

Thank you so much for the fast reply gemstone.

Karen :)

Oh and one more question, sorry this is new to me.
We are staying at the BCV. I know there is a boat from BC to HS, but again, wondering if it will be ECV accessible?

TIA,
Karen :)

hello again,
I'm not really good at figuring out the names of places by letters only so I'm not sure what BCV is, but I'm taking a guess that HS is Hollywood studios. If so, based upon the context of your question, I'm guessing (again) that BCV refers to the beachclub villas. The boats that travel around the resort lake near EPCOT resorts (beachclub/boardwalk/swan-dolphin) to Hollywood Studios also go to Epcot by the world showcase entry. They are also they type of boats used within Epcot to transport guests from the future world section to the world showcase sections. I believe they are called friendship boats. They are accessible. Hope this helps.

You can also get to EPCOT by crossing the bridge over by the world showcase entry and I believe there is also a bus. You can take a path along the waterfront over to Hollywood studios as well. I also believe there is a bus. I've never stayed at any of the EPCOT resorts so someone else more knowledgeable may be able to verify the bus information I've given you or correct it. I think the buses may be a new development. I have taken the boats and the paths as they've been there a while.

Thanks again gemstone.
Yes, you are correct, BCV = Beach Club Villas and HS= Hollywood Studios.
So from what you say I take it that I wont have any problem getting the boat at the Beach Club and traveling over to Hollywood Studios in the ECV.
Thank you so much.

Karen :)

you did not ask but last time I was at Hoop Dee Doo with an ECV, I had to enter thru Trails End. it has been a few years so it might have changed. we were staying at Fort Wilderness and never had a problem with boat to and from MK. one of boats did mention that if water level is to low it can be a problem but that does not to often

The large boats accommodate ECV's very well and are the only ones that go to FW (except smaller 'Launches' in unusual circumstances). We have been camping at FW since MK opened, and have never been on any except the large boats.

We were there at the fort this past Dec into January and they used the launches as well as the cruisers. We were also there again from early June until Mid July and they were putting the launches into service quite a bit. Perhaps it depends on the season. They alternate the launches with the cruisers. I think it may be because they have been using the cruisers to service the MK resorts so one of the 3 cruisers is used there and another of the cruisers was being used to service the Wilderness lodge.
They alternate the launches with the cruisers going to and from the Fort so you shouldn't have a problem getting to where you need to go.

Once again, thank you gemstone, you've been so helpful. Just want you to know I appreciate it.

I've, in several trips to FW, including over extremely busy times, never taken a smaller boat from FW to MK. They've always operated the cruisers between FW and MK and the cruisers btwn FW, WL, and Contemporary in a loop. WL usually has both cruisers and launches to MK. If FW did too, it was probably an unusual circumstance.
