We are heading to DW in 4 weeks, and we are trying to figure out if we should start our MK day in Fantasyland or Adventureland. Our last trip (and first trip), we started in Fantasyland and never made it over to Adventureland. We do want to go to Fantasyland again because we didn't get to do Tales with Belle last time, and the older two really want to do 7DMT again. We have 11,9 and 4 year old twins. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

If you want to do SDMT again, and don't have fp+ for it, then be there early for RD (like 45 mins prior to RD), and go straight to SDMT at opening. When you are done, head to adventureland. In November 2014 we found adventureland and frontier land to be pretty empty until appx 10 45am or so (9am open) because so much of the crowd headed to fantasyland for SDMT and A&E.

If you have fp+ for sdmt, then head to adventureland and take advantage of the low lines at RD while everyone heads to fantasyland.

As others have said, it SO depends on your FP+ selections, and the rides you MUST do. In Fantasyland, 7DMT, PP, and Pooh get long lines pretty quickly. If you don't have FP+ and want to ride those, then you need to do Fantasyland first thing at rope drop. By no means should it take all day to do Fantasyland though. Even without FP+ you should be able to get through it in a few hours, and be on to Adventureland by mid day.

If 7DMT is the ONLY Fantasyland ride you really must do, either hit it up immediately at RD, and then go on to Adventure, OR if you have FP+ for 7DMT, then do Adventureland first, hitting Pirates, then Magic Carpets of Alladin, then Jungle Cruise. Shouldn't take too long to get through Adventureland really.

Is this a regular opening day or morning extra magic hours?

It is a regular opening day (5/3). I think I like the idea of heading to Adventureland first because the lines there are normally shorter first thing in the morning. Then FP the things we need to do in Fantasyland after lunch. We haven't FP anything yet because we aren't 30 days out yet. I guess it will depend on which FP are available when we get to select our FPs.
