MK Ropedrop before CM Brunch?

I have a timing question- during my trip we won't really get to be there for the rope drop on our scheduled MK days. We have a breakfast res one day, and the other is our arrival day, the one day we could, we are having brunch at Chef Mickey's.

So it's a 9am park opening day, and reservations are at 10:10...do I have time to even mess with going into MK? I'd like to see the rope drop done and maybe even sneak back and ride something real quick. Is it even worth it or should i just sleep in? How long is the monorail ride from MK to Contemporary?

TIA!

You can actually walk to the Contemporary from MK in about 10 minutes. I suppose you could go in, see the rope drop show and ride one ride, but I don't know if it would be worth it to go in for less than an hour.

Not sure how far out you are from your trip, but I would keep trying to move your CM reservation to a later time so you could take advantage of the early hours at the park, when it's less crowded and you can get a lot done. If you could get one for 11-11:30 that would work well. Not that it is easy, as CM books up fast, but people change their plans all the time, so things can pop up, especially the week before, and even the nt before, as you have to cancel by midnt to avoid fees if you aren't going to make it.

If you can move it, you can go get several rides done, especially those that get long lines later like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan, and then schedule FP for when you return from brunch in the early afternoon. You can also grab a snack for brft if you like while waiting on Main St.

If you can't, it would be tight, but you would want want to be there an hr. before opening so you could be at the head of the crowd and right after the show up you could head back for one ride close by and then head back to the front by 9:45 to either walk or take resort monorail to Contemporary. It is fun to ride the monorail since it pulls right in to the Contemporary above Chef Mickey's! You have to decide if it's worth it for you. But hopefully you can move it a little later and have that good morning time in the park.
