We have just arrived for our first trip! We are staying offsite about 10 minutes away. We are planning to rd mk tomm morning. I have never been before and have no real concept of the process. Can you help me understand what time I should plan to arrive at the parking lot as we are driving ourselves. And from there should we take the monorail or ferry to park? How long does that take? Any input is appreciated trying to plan from a time perspective. Thanks!!

MK opens at 9 tomorrow. I'd aim to get there around 8:15/8:30, in the park that is. So I'd plan to be parking my car about 7:50/8. How long it takes you to get to the park from ferry boat or monorail depends on the crowds. But rough guess I'd put about 20 min from parking your car to getting to MK

Magic Kingdom opens 9:00 in the morning. If you are planning to headed straight to one of the main attractions at rope drop, I would recommend arriving at the parking lot between 8 and 8:15 so you are closer to the front of the group. When you arrive, you will be allowed onto Main Street, but will held at the castle and not allowed into the lands until the 9:00 opening time.

You are correct that you take either ferry or monorail to MK. That should not take more than 10-15 minutes.

Hope this helps and hope you have a magical first day at Disney! :)

@ MomX4 first visit..... Have a wonderful trip! It will be just about impossible to see EVERYTHING at Magic Kingdom on one day, so take it slow, and enjoy the process!

For the first day I'd be at the Magic Kingdom till booths by 7:50. That should easily get you on Main Street by 8:30. Depending on what you want to do first, where you'll want to wait for RD will change.

Get to parking at TTC at 7:45am.
Monorail likely will not be running so your option is bus or ferry.
Out of those I'd choose the ferry because if you choose the bus you'll end up going through security twice. Once at TTC and then once after you get off the bus. (At least that was my offsite experience in April)
